Activities help girls explore the question of, "What's important to girls?" LOVE-FRIENDSHIP-DIRT help us find answers.
Earth Girls Empowerment Camp is co-created by Miss Moon and Cypress, aka, 2 women concerned with helping mothers by being there for children. Earth Girls Empowerment Camp provides a forum for an all girls group to explore what's important to girls and gives girls the chance to celebrate the beauty of girl power. This is one way we weave a fabric of society that better values the contribution of fe
males. Miss Moon brings a love of life and a spirit of magic into her work with children amid Mother Nature. Her mission is to inspire children to be curious, passionate, aware, kind and sharing with all things in the living world.

I get fb notifications about my page and apparently, I had 5 views today. Thank you to anyone who looked at my page. Please don't be shy about saying hi.
Earth Girls was a very precious program for 7 years. I would definitely consider doing camp again. If you're reading this and have a daughter ages 9-12, let me know if you're interested. If I have enough interest, I can always plan a week of camp.

Dear Community,
If you're looking for a summer camp for your daughter, ages 10-12, and especially if you have a network with other girls who might be interested, I would be most happy to organize a week or two of camp this summer. Best when there's about 10 children.
As of now, my attention is involved in other projects but I dearly love Earth Girls.

Earth Girls Empowerment Camp is co-created by Miss Moon with my dear friend Cypress; two women concerned with helping mothers by being there for children, our goal was simple but rooted in wisdom that a cultural change is afoot. Earth Girls Empowerment Camp provides a forum for an all girls group to explore what's important to girls and gives girls the chance to celebrate the beauty of girl power. This is one way we weave a fabric of society that better values the contribution of females. Miss Moon brings a love of life and a spirit of magic into her work with children amid Mother Nature. This started off as a vision when I was in college. I was finding my own power through women’s circles, nature connection, and creativity. And in this process, I saw my wounds. I knew my path would involve healing and I knew that before I could truly be an effective healer, it would take me time and dedication to address my own core pains.
There were times when it seemed the healing would take forever, especially when I was fostering 4 of my younger siblings. And then, there I was, on my way towards starting a Master’s program and finding out I was pregnant all in one week. And then years later, with my second-born, not yet one, my husband was bowing goodbye to our relationship. I thought there could be no greater pain than those of my childhood but I was wrong. At times, I am still working on putting pieces in order and then there are times when everything feels solid, whole, and wholesome and I’m good. That’s when I day dream and I am still envisioning sacred spaces for girls as they come of age.
In a recent conversation, I needed to explain the difference between discrimination and serving an under-represented demographic. I found myself noting how girls and boys approach projects differently, often starting a task, as assigned, by following directions. Meanwhile, in an outdoor classroom, boys often transform objects into swords and start sparring spontaneously. We are aware that girls mature at a different rate and this is why it is valuable for girls entering early adolescence to have time away from young males. Additionally, with hormones and our bodies beginning to change, we may not even understand why when one girl sees a boy she knows, the whole group feels a ripple from even a short instance. If we don’t have language to make sense of this experience, isn’t it fair to create a space where the dust from this kind of moment can settle to the wayside? Without boys around, girls are given space to be more of who they really are, they can be more authentic. Gender roles, examples from media and home drop. There’s no need to flirt or play with getting and giving attention. The atmosphere is simplified and that is something a girl needs.
Earth Girls Empowerment Camp is entering its 4th year now and Her-story is becoming more defined. The reason for needing all-female space has always been here. My job is to claim it for those who cannot create it on their own. My job is to be an example, a role model, a mentor, a friend. My job is to inspire. My job is to coordinate and cultivate. We are planting seeds through our awareness and with our loving spirits. It has yet to be revealed when and how those seeds will prosper but we bless our girls with love and faith and protection. We breathe life with them and for them. And we rejoice that one day, our girls will rally to create an even more beautiful future, where we hope that resilience is claimed and those who are less fortunate, have the friendship and compassion to have their needs be met, and where those who are privileged realize what they have to give so as to strengthen the lives and opportunities of those who struggle. Our world can be a more just and kind place.
Earth Girls is an offering. It is intended to be a safe place, a sacred place, a learning place, and a fun place, where Mama Earth holds us and we realize we do indeed have personal power and it is a gift among many yet-to be-discovered personal talents.
