Spring is in full swing and the skies are filled with song and flight. Come hang with us to soak up all of the sights, sounds, and (hopefully) a little sunshine to celebrate the throws of spring and migration! Riverfront is a beautiful regional park in Healdsburg that features two human-made lakes and runs alongside redwood forest and the Russian River, making for a diverse spot filled with birds of all kinds. 🦅

As usual this event is FREE and inclusive of LGBTQ2IA+, BIPOC, disabled, fat, and neurodiverse folk 🌈 💖 Link to register is in our bio!

Hello FBC Community🦅🤠!

Spring is nearly here and birdsong is becoming abundant! For our March outing, we'll be heading out to Ragle Ranch Regional Park in Sebastopol for some casual "birding by ear". Ragle is a sprawling park with multiple different micro-habitats, and is therefore home to a variety of different birds. We'll be utilizing our ears and tools like the Merlin Bird ID app to explore birdsong of birds in the area, as well as observe bird behavior and language.

This event is FREE and is inclusive of LGBTQ2IA+, BIPOC, disabled, fat, and neurodiverse folx 🌈🏳️‍⚧️💖.

You asked for it, and we’re here to help! We had a few folks ask for save-the-dates in our annual feedback survey for 2025, so we’re making it happen for y’all in 2026~ Look out for seasonal posts that will include future event dates so that you can plan accordingly!

We are trying to only post dates that have been locked in by the lead facilitator for each outing, so rest assured that (barring unforeseen issues) these will be the dates for our outings through the month of April. We’ll also be sharing more information closer to April about our weekly midweek birding for spring migration, so keep an eye out for that as well!

We had a lovely time with everyone at our January outing, and we hope to bird with y’all soon! 🦆

At the end of our official birding, we'll be sharing a potluck to reconnect and welcome in the new year.

Hi, everyone! We hope you’ve been enjoying the fall birding season!

Sonoma County Feminist Bird Club is excited to announce a collaboration with Pepperwood Preserve () in Santa Rosa for our November birding outing.

When: Saturday November 15, 2025. 3pm-6pm (with time to check out the art exhibit after).
Where: 2130 Pepperwood Preserve Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
(More details about parking and specific meeting location at the preserve will be sent to registrants separately).

This will be a special evening birding event where we will meet at Pepperwood Preserve and then hop into passenger vans driven by Pepperwood staff where we will caravan together to a few different spots throughout the preserve to bird in place (folks can bring small camping chairs if you'd like to sit rather than stand). We will spend the end of the outing having a sunset picnic together. On the way back, there will be the possibility of hearing a Western Screech-Owl or Common Poorwill! After the official birding portion wraps up, there will be optional time to mingle and check out “The Majesty of Birds” art exhibit.

This event is FREE and is inclusive of LGBTQ2IA+, BIPOC, disabled, fat, and neurodiverse folx 🌈🏳️‍⚧️💖.

Registration required to attend this event. Since we will be consolidating into passenger vans driven by Pepperwood Preserve staff after everyone checks in, capacity will be limited to 20 people for this event so register early!

🌿🐦 We’re Birding for a Better World! 🐦🌿

Sonoma County Feminist Bird Club is proud to join Feminist Bird Club’s Birdathon for Birders of Palestine this October 17–20. This is a one-of-a-kind, inclusive birdathon where everyone can participate in their own way — whether that’s counting species, hours spent in nature, or just enjoying bird joy with friends.

✨ Our chapter has set a fundraising goal of $1,000 and we’re officially open for donations! ✨

Your support will directly help Birders of Palestine, an independent project supporting Palestinian birdwatchers and their families as they try to survive genocide and ethnic cleansing, all while continuing their love of birds.

🕊️ Every dollar counts — no gift is too small. Together, we can build joy, solidarity, and support across borders.

Birding & Stewardship ~ Observación de aves y cuidado de la tierra - Ocean Song-Myers Preserve (Occidental)

Saturday October 11, 2025 09:00 AM - 01:30 PM

Register at the link in our bio (linktr.ee/fbc.sonoma).

This outing is bilingual (English/Spanish) and inclusive of LGBTQ2IA+ and BIPOC community members.

You are invited for a special day of birding and caring for the land with LandPaths, the Sonoma County Feminist Bird Club, and Ag+ Open Space at Ocean Song- Myers Preserve off Coleman Valley Road in Occidental!

We'll spend the first part of the day going on a slow birding hike on the preserve. If you would prefer to sit and listen/watch the birds instead of going on a hike, there will be a Sit and Bird option with one of our facilitators.

After a break for an early lunch, we'll spend a couple of hours completing stewardship tasks at the preserve as a way to give back to the land where the birds make their homes. The stewardship day will be led by LandPaths' staff with seasonal tasks adjusted to your ability level. We'll provide the gloves and tools!
