This past weekend, we watched you cross over with so much pride.

You’ve worked hard, grown as leaders, and earned the highest rank in Cub Scouting. From your first meetings to your final campouts as Cub Scouts, you’ve built skills, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Now the adventure continues.

In Scouts BSA, you’ll take on bigger challenges, camp under the stars, step into leadership roles, and push yourselves even further.

We are so proud of how far you’ve come and so excited to see where the trail takes you next.

Engines are (almost) ready! 🏎️ Our Scouts are building their Pinewood Derby cars now, and with a February race ahead, there’s still time to join the excitement!

This past weekend, Santa’s finest helpers traded the North Pole for Camp Oklawaha and had a snow-much fun Shoot-O-Ree Campout! 🏹🎯

Our Scouts earned their Archery, BB Gun, and Slingshot Adventures, warmed up with hot cocoa, made reindeer food, wrote letters to Santa, and created memories that will last longer than Buddy’s four food groups. 🎅☕🦌

Thanks to all our merry elves (Scouts, families, and volunteers) who helped spread holiday cheer all weekend long! 🌟🎄

💛 Thank You, Indian River County! 💛

Yesterday’s Annual Scouting for Food Drive was a huge success thanks to your generosity! Pack 589 collected over 1,200 pounds of food for our local food pantry.

Together, the three Sebastian Scout units gathered over 5,000 pounds of food to support families in need in Sebastian. While across Indian River County, Scouts collected more than 10,000 pounds for the food banks for our county.

Your generosity and community spirit truly make a difference. Thank you for helping us give back in this time! 🥫❤️

⚜️ Scouting for Food Pick-Up Day! 🥫

This Saturday, November 8, our Scouts will be back in our neighborhoods beginning at 9 AM, collecting food donations from the houses where we left door hangers last weekend. 💛

Your donations help support local food pantries and families in need! Every item counts!

📩 Didn’t get a door hanger but still want to donate?
Leave your donation by your mailbox or front door; somewhere our Scouts can see it from the road. Then send us a message with your address, and we’ll make sure a Scout stops by to pick it up by 11 AM.

🎃 Happy Halloween from Pack 589!

We had a frightfully fun Pack Meeting last night, where our Wizard 🧙‍♀️ Cubmaster brewed up a magical potion that led to some special awards! Our Den Leaders were turned into mummies, and we wrapped up the night with a monster mash dance party! 👻🕺🎶

📢 Get Ready for Scouting for Food! ⚜️

This Saturday, November 1, Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 589 and other Indian River District units will be out in neighborhoods spreading the word with door hangers for the Scouting for Food national service project.

Then, on Saturday, November 8, they’ll return to pick up any non-perishable food donations left at your doorstep.

This important annual effort helps replenish local food pantries and supports families in our community, and this year, your contributions are more needed than ever! 💛

Every donation counts! Cans, boxes, or bags of food all make a meaningful impact. 🥫✨

Last Thursday, our Scouts and parents came together for Community Night Out, a fantastic event hosted by the Sebastian Police Department 👮🏻‍♂️, we had an absolute blast interacting with community partners and agencies.

This month we kicked off our camping season with a relaxed family campout at our beautiful Camp Oklawaha! 🌲✨ Our Scouts enjoyed some fishing 🎣, practiced their fire-building skills 🔥, and even took a night hike with a real entomologist who showed us the amazing bugs that come out after dark. 🐞🦗

Scouting adventures are back in full swing! 💛💙

Several of our Pack 589 families joined in at Conservation Day this past Saturday at our home camp, Camp Oklawaha 🏕️💚. Together with other Scouts and volunteers, they helped give back to the place where so many of our adventures begin. Thank you to everyone who pitched in!
