Camp Oklawaha

Boy Scouts of America Campground Camp Oklawaha is a 60 acre site in Sebastian, Indian River County, on the banks of the Sebastian River.

Donated by Anna Vern Smith in memory of her husband Claude in 1953, Oklawaha is a scrub oak flatland which includes a swimming area, canoe launch into the river, amphitheater, large meeting/dining hall pavilion, archery/BB range and chapel.

We're excited to share that some exciting improvements are on the way!

Over the next couple of months, you'll notice updates and changes to our website as we transition from the Tentaroo platform to our new website and move event registrations to Black Pug.

For now, our website will remain the same. However, you may notice that some event registrations will redirect you to our new Black Pug registration system as we gradually make the transition.

During this process, you may encounter a few changes or temporary hiccups as we work to improve your experience. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we make these upgrades.

🦕☀️ What an incredible week at Cub Scout Day Camp! ☀️🦕

Our Scouts had an absolute blast making new friends, trying new activities, learning new skills, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing adult volunteers who stepped up as den leaders and filled in wherever needed, our BSA Scouts who ran stations and served as den chiefs, our guest speakers, and our dedicated shooting sports staff volunteers. Your time, energy, and passion made this week possible.

Thank you all for making this year's Cub Scout Day Camp one to remember! 💙💛

The 2026 Wood Badge Bobwhite Patrol was hard at work over Memorial Day Weekend!

Steve Coldwell from T13 and Jon Shanahan from P335, along with their Scouts Spencer Coldwell from T13 and Jon James Shanahan from P335, teamed up to give Rat Man Bridge a much-needed refresh.

Their dedication, teamwork, and cheerful service helped improve a beloved local landmark while demonstrating the spirit of Scouting in action.

Great job, Bobwhites! Be Prepared. Give Back. Leave it better than you found it. 🐦⚜️

🎉 Congratulations to Scouting America Troop 599! 🎉
Troop 599 is the first Scouting America unit to officially adopt a campsite at Camp Oklawaha in the Gulf Stream Council this year!🌲⛺
Through hard work and dedication, the Scouts widened the campsite entry to accommodate a trailer—using only shovels, a pickaxe, loppers, and rakes. This impressive effort truly reflects the Scout spirit of service, teamwork, and conservation.
Camp Ranger Bill Molnar is thrilled with the results and extends his thanks to Troop 599 for setting the standard. He also encourages other units to step up and adopt a campsite, helping to preserve and improve Camp Oklawaha for all Scouts to enjoy.
Well done, Troop 599—your leadership and service are making a lasting impact! 👏⚜️
