Portland Modern Quilt Guild

Portland Modern Quilt Guild A friendly group of modern quilters in Portland, Oregon, the metro areas and beyond! We meet monthly to learn and share.

Welcoming and inclusive, we embrace modern quilting, sharing our work, and caring for our community. We are a group of Modern Quilters who are addicted to sewing, fabric, and learning new techniques. Our group came together in 2010 as a part of the Modern Quilt Guild movement. We also meet monthly to sew together and host other events, such as charity sewing.

🧵✨ PMQG Business Member Spotlight: Cavalier Quilts ✨🧵

This month we're shining a spotlight on Cavalier Quilts, a home-based longarm quilting business dedicated to helping quilters bring their projects to life—finishing quilts one stitch at a time.

Owner Jannae Duncan began her quilting journey in 2004 through a local charity group and took the leap into longarm quilting in 2021. Today, she offers digital edge-to-edge, custom, and ruler work quilting services, helping fellow quilters transform unfinished tops into beautiful completed quilts.

Named in honor of her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cavalier Quilts combines quality craftsmanship, personalized service, and affordable pricing to help every quilt reach the finish line.

🐾 From first stitch to final binding, Cavalier Quilts is passionate about helping quilters complete projects they'll treasure for years to come.

PMQG June Lecture: Sarah Hibbert

Thursday, June 18th
Starting at 7:00 pm
At the Multnomah Arts Center in the GYM & Online via Zoom

From traditional quilting roots to internationally recognized modern textile art, this artist's creative journey is one of exploration, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Based just outside London, she combines a love of timeless linen, hand quilting, and modern design to create work that bridges tradition and contemporary expression. Inspired by both fabric and paper collage, her quilts reflect a thoughtful design process where texture, color, and storytelling come together.

Her work has been acquired by major institutions, including The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles and the International Quilt Museum in Nebraska, and has been featured at festivals and exhibitions across the UK, Europe, South Korea, and the United States.

From solo galleries such as Linen Works to the collaborative exhibition The Space Between, her quilts continue to connect audiences across cultures and generations.
