Join Portland Modern Quilt Guild for a special evening with Susan Hudson, a Diné woman from the Navajo Nation, contemporary Ledger quilter, and NEA National Heritage Fellow.

Susan’s quilts tell powerful stories of survivance, resilience, and lived experience. Through her art, she explores the painful legacies of colonization and genocide, including child trafficking and the devastating impact of the boarding school system on Indigenous communities.
Her presentation will include time for questions and silent reflection, creating space to listen, learn, and engage thoughtfully with these difficult histories.

As a meaningful way to respond to Susan’s presentation, we invite members to bring fabric donations for the Navajo Quilt Project. We’ll have a collection box at the meeting and will mail the donated fabric to the project.
🧵 Donation guidelines: Please bring a minimum of a ¼-yard cut of fabric. Donating is entirely optional, but we hope this opportunity to contribute through our shared love of quilting will offer a positive, hands-on way to process the difficult stories we hear and turn reflection into an act of care.
