Portland Modern Quilt Guild A friendly group of modern quilters in Portland, Oregon, the metro areas and beyond! We meet monthly to learn and share.

Welcoming and inclusive, we embrace modern quilting, sharing our work, and caring for our community. We are a group of Modern Quilters who are addicted to sewing, fabric, and learning new techniques. Our group came together in 2010 as a part of the Modern Quilt Guild movement. We also meet monthly to sew together and host other events, such as charity sewing.

The Portland Modern Quilt Guild is honored to present a powerful collection of fiber art exploring Pride, protest, resilience, identity, and community through quilting and textiles at The Cave Gallery in Vancouver.

These artists have poured incredible care, labor, and storytelling into each piece — transforming fabric into bold visual language, protest, celebration, and witness.

🎉 First Friday Reception: June 5 | 5–9 PM
🖤 Artist Talk + FREE Bog Coat Workshop: June 27 | 11 AM–2 PM

The Portland Modern Quilt Guild is deeply honored to present a Rainbow Mini Quilt Show this June at in the Basil Hallward Gallery on the 3rd floor.

This collection brings together vibrant, heartfelt mini quilts celebrating Pride, love, resilience, joy, and community through fiber art. Some pieces will be available for purchase, with several artists choosing to donate proceeds to organizations doing meaningful and necessary work in our communities.

If you find yourself wandering the shelves at Powell’s this month, take the trip upstairs and let yourself be showered with rainbows of love from us.

To celebrate the success of the Virtual Sampler Platter, the Global Quilt Connection is offering a FREE live one-day workshop with Bea Byrne.

This workshop is one of Bea Byrne’s specialties and will be hosted live as a YouTube livestream — similar to the Sampler Platter sessions.

✨ This workshop is normally $49 per person, but it’s being offered free as a thank-you for helping GQC reach their YouTube subscriber goal!

⚠️ As with many free sew-alongs and workshops, you will need to purchase the pattern for the project. Optional kit bundles are also available.
