Maritime Folknet

Maritime Folknet Maritime Folknet produces live music events that connect the public with Northwest maritime culture, both past and present.

Maritime Folknet is a federal 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving maritime culture and history, and encouraging people to explore and participate in that culture and history. We do this primarily through the music that highlights our boats and the people who work them, especially in the Pacific Northwest. We create programs and events that celebrate our maritime heritage, educa

te the public, and advocate preserving it. We collaborate with other organizations and individuals to bring these programs to the public. We are funded by memberships, public grants, and private donations.

HEADS UP: Today's event at the Ballard Locks is cancelled, due to predicted thunderstorms! You all stay safe out there and we'll see you at some other maritime event!
The Ballard Locks had planned a water safety day for today (Saturday, May 16) and asked us to supply some music. We lined up the Northshore Ramblers and Dan Roberts. But the atmosphere has linedup an unstable cold front and possible thunderstorms and rain.
The Locks have wisely decided not to hold Water Safety Day under those conditions.
