For more than three decades, our communities in Seattle, USA and Surabaya, Indonesia have shared culture, built connections, and strengthened ties of friendship. 💙❤️
From cultural exchanges and student programs to community events and collaborations, we are proud of the bridges we’ve built — and excited for the years ahead! 🌿

SSSCA Board had our first meeting with the new Indonesian Consul General, Bapak Yohpy Ichsan Wardana, and his staff at Maya Asian Market.

It was a very good and fruitful meeting, full of ideas and collaboration.

SSSCA had the pleasure of participating in the book launch event for “Blue Skies, Troubled Water” by Martha Walandouw Lohn & Brian Kimmel — a beautiful story of resilience, courage, hope, and strength.

Thank you, Brian, for including us in this meaningful celebration.

Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of Bubur Manado (Tinutuan), fried bananas, and flavorful sambals — a true crowd favorite!

A special thank you to the Dahlia Dance Group for their performance of “Si Patokaan”, and to Evi, Tany, Susan & Jung Beverly for sharing your talent and energy!

Seattle’s sister cities bring you stories of relations between people with short films from Poland, Kenya, France, New Zealand, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Israel, Taiwan, and Norway. Works are by students, amateurs, and professionals with unique voices exploring our connections to the world and to each other. The themes deal with a range of topics relating to the human condition, including loss, the passage of time, reflections on life, survival, art, and joy.
