Honoring Legacy, Growing Futures 🌱
On March 15, 2026, members of the Seattle Black Panther Party Legacy Committee joined community partners for the soft opening of the Seattle Black Panther Party Park in Skyway.
Created by Na’eemah and the team at Nurturing Roots, this powerful new space honors the Panthers’ historic free breakfast and food justice work while nurturing community through gardening, art, and education.
The park features eight stunning murals by local artists, printed on metal and installed throughout the site—each telling a piece of Black Panther Party and community history.
We were honored to stand with elders, organizers, and artists as this vision came to life. The official grand opening is April 19, and we’re excited about the partnership potential between the Park and the Seattle Black Panther Party Interpretive Center.
