Work is proceeding in the BARC indoor…..the volunteers are working hard, each weekend to hopefully have this wrapped up by mid April. It’s gonna be so fun!!!

For those that didn't already know, the BARC indoor is getting some work done to improve the facility. New roof, hazardous tree removal, new siding and interior improvements. See link below from VPD site.

Saturday September 20th at the B.A.R.C (The Burton Adventure Recreation Center) on Vashon Island.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
11 AM: Event Registration
12 PM: Time Trials
2:30 PM: Aerial performance by youth students of the UMO School of Physical Arts
3 PM: Best Trick Competition
3:30 PM: Awards

-Helmets are required for all participants.
-Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver form.
-All registered participants will receive a wristband after providing a signed waiver.
-Wristbands are required to compete.

Been a while since posting any updates....so here's a little info on what's being worked on behind the scenes. As many of you may know, last year VPD was awarded with a King County fully funded grant to replace the roof and siding on the indoor portion of the park. Along with those improvements will be lighting upgrades, an office renovation and a remodel of the street course to increase the usability (no more damp concrete!). Not all the things we wanted are going to be possible, based on budget, but this will be a huge improvement! The drawings are currently submitted to King County for review, with the hope that we can start construction later this summer. Stay tuned for more info and updates. Cheers!
