One bike. Endless miles of possibility.

Roserlia is a farmer in Zania, Ghana. She used to walk nearly three hours each day to reach her farm and get her produce to market. By the time she arrived, she was already exhausted.

Now, with a bike donated by Re-Cycle and distributed through Village Bike Project, her routine has changed. She travels faster, saves energy for her work and to market more efficiently.

“The bicycle has made my work easier and reduced my stress,” she says.

More time, more energy, and ultimately more income — all from one bike.

Village Bicycle Project (VBP) and Partners Transforming Education Through Sustainable Mobility in Rural Ghana 🚲

Transportation challenges in rural Ghana significantly impact educational access and community development. The recent bicycle distribution initiative in Baafi community, located in Nkoranza North District of Ghana's Bono East Region, represents a transformative intervention addressing critical mobility barriers faced by students. Through the collaborative efforts of Village Bicycle Project and partners at Bikes for the World, and Re-Cycle (Bikes to Africa), 120 bicycles were successfully distributed to students across two schools at Baafi and Kranka communities.
The comprehensive, holistic (maintenance training) approach ensures that bikes will be dependable, affordable and sustainable transportation enhancing educational access and improve performance —creating lasting impact for entire communities.
