We got to celebrate the launch of “Bake Anything” by Erin Jeanne McDowell at the Seattle Baking Club, share a lot of her bakes from all her books and chat with her about the new book, her writing process and favorite bakes!
The pistachio eclairs were my highlight but also loved all the savory bakes that we saw. Meeting Erin was a baking dream come true! Since I started this hobby, I watched all her videos and masterclasses on Food52 and learned so much about macarons, pastry and piping! Thank you so much for joining us and helping to make it a wonderful afternoon with our baking community, Erin!

La Catrina came knocking, all bones and a grin
“Warm up your ovens and let me come in!
Save the First of November, at two on the dot,
For sugar and spirits and all that you’ve got.”

She rattled her ribs, gave a wink and a plea:
“Bring bakes for the theme spooky sweet, just for me!
Marigolds, monsters, a calavera or two,
Whatever your hands make, we’ll savor with you.”

We’ll build an ofrenda, so bring, if you care,
A photo of loved ones or pets to rest there.
For those who have left us are never quite gone;
They linger in kitchens and live on and on.

So paint on your skull, wear your finest disguise,
Come break bread with neighbors ‘neath marigold skies.
La Muerte’s not frightening with cake to be shared—

I can’t wait for the Seattle Baking Club in October with the one and only ! When I first started baking, I watched her videos on YouTube over and over again and it’s an honor to welcome her into our baking community for a short Q&A, book signing and a wholesome evening full of amazing bakes.
We’ll celebrate with recipes from her new book “Bake Anything” or any of her countless amazing ones you can find online.

We’re thrilled to welcome Martin Sorge to celebrate the launch of his brand-new book, Great Bakes, with the Seattle Baking Club!
Join us for an afternoon of delicious inspiration, sweet conversation, and all things baking.
Martin is a self-taught baker and the winner of the first season of The Great American Baking show on Roku. He’ll be with us for a Q&A, baking tips and maybe some secrets from his book and the tent. As always we’ll all bring bakes to share with everyone!

The most technical Baking Club yet, celebrating one year of Pastry Temple by for a very short Q&A with James Beard Nominee, Christina Wood and a chance to try basically every recipe in the book!
Dozens of bakes that all use one of the pillar recipes: brioche, puff pastry, or croissants dough. With lengthy explanations for how to make these, it makes approaching them less intimidating. Everything was spectacular and a great mix of flavors! If you haven’t checked it out, can’t recommend this book enough! Thank you for having us and thanks everyone who came to the event!
