October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a special time to celebrate the strength of those who’ve been affected by breast cancer and to empower ourselves and our loved ones with knowledge and the tools to stay healthy. It’s also an opportunity to take proactive steps toward our health and well-being.

While breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S., with more than 300,000 new cases expected this year1, there’s good news: when caught in the early stages, the 5-year survival rate is greater than 90%2. Early detection makes all the difference, and that’s why it’s important to stay on top of regular screenings and check-ups.

Know the signs. Common symptoms include:
A new lump in the breast or underarm (most common symptom)
Changes in breast size or shape
Pain in any area of the breast
Ni**le discharge (including blood)

If you notice any of these signs, or if it’s time for your regular screening, reach out to your healthcare provider. Remember, breast cancer is treatable, especially when detected early. Mammograms and other diagnostic tests can be lifesaving, so don’t hesitate to prioritize your health.
