We are pleased to welcome Kaylin Wirkman (they/she), who joins the organization as Marketing Manager. A familiar face to many in our community, Kaylin has been a vital presence at several of our recent events. They will work alongside Isa Pagel, who will now focus their expertise as Operations Director.

On joining the Sound Salon team, Kaylin shares, “Working with Sound Salon is a meaningful opportunity to build relationships within and contribute to an organization that embodies values I believe wholeheartedly in.” Kaylin emphasizes their priorities will champion longevity and Sound Salon’s inclusive platform, stating, “I am passionate about expanding the reach of, and sustaining the thoughtful programming that Sound Salon produces through listening, intentionality, and movement from behind the scenes to engage sincerely with communities.”

Please say hello to Kaylin at our next concert, Q***r Classics, on the upcoming eve of Pride Month. Enjoy a program of music for clarinet, piano, and four hand piano by Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc, Franz Schubert, Billy Strayhorn, and more. Q***r artists, Laura DeLuca, Byron Schenkman, and Joseph Williams celebrate the legacy of Q***r composers past and present.

Today would have been Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 270th birthday! Join us in sharing a nod to his birthday at our upcoming concert, Mozart & More. This program is a toast to Mozart and his contemporaries in a program filled with joy and musical laughter.

Artistic Director Byron Schenkman shares some of their highlights of this upcoming program, “Mozart’s music has a way of being sublimely beautiful without ever taking itself too seriously. This repertoire is music that I’ve loved since I was a kid. These pieces are like charming and witty conversations between instruments. It is music for friends to enjoy together, whether playing or listening.”

Seattle concert: February 7 at 7:30 PM (please note that this is selling out quickly so make sure to reserve your seats now!)

Tacoma concert: February 8 at 3:00 PM
