North Helpline North Helpline works to make sure our neighbors have food on the table and a roof overhead.

North Helpline is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to combating food and housing insecurity in
North Seattle. We envision a future where all our neighbors have food on their table and a roof overhead. North Helpline was started in 1989 by a small group of volunteers who noticed that many of their neighbors were not able to pay their rent, cover their utility bills and put food on the table be

cause their paychecks didn't stretch that far. These friends began collecting food and financial support to distribute to those most in need in their community. The initial group grew to 600+ volunteers who contribute over 2,000 hours of work monthly. North Helpline now provides critical human services to over 1,700 clients each week in an effort to reduce the impact of hunger and poverty in the Greater North Seattle Area including Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, and parts of Bothell and Kenmore.

Sasha Summer Cousineau is a fundraising auctioneer, gala emcee, wedding officiant, fundraising and event planning consultant based in Seattle, WA. As the owner of Revel Rouser events, Sasha is living her “Occupassion” every time she gets to serve local non-profits and educational institutions. A lifelong performer, Sasha’s magnetism on the microphone commands a room, galvanizing donors to give in support of a cause. 🌸 Polaris Tickets Available Now! 🌸

We are excited to come together on Sunday, September 27th for the annual Polaris Benefit!

This year's Polaris will be a celebration of the combination of North Helpline and Hunger Intervention Program, along with introductions of our Co-Executive Directors, Darcy Buendia and Srijan Chakraborty, and the vision for North Seattle Food Connection (NSFC).

Join us on Sunday, September 27th at noon at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture for a Garden Party themed luncheon Polaris event. Together, we'll raise funds for a better future for all of our neighbors and make sure everyone in our community has a roof over their head and a meal on their plate.

No-Cook Meal Bags Ingredients Needed 🥫

At North Helpline we distribute No-Cook Meal Bags to our neighbors without access to a stove or a refrigerator. These resources are essential for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. We’re running low on No-Cook Bag ingredients:

Pop-top high protein soup or chili, applesauce or fruit cup, granola or protein bar, jerky, beverage, and chips.

We have a new truck! 🚚

This truck was made possible by the generosity of our community in our end-of-year campaign. It took some time as it had to be specially designed to fit behind our Lake City building. Our friends at Pierre Isuzu of Everett took great care of us! We’re excited to use it for our grocery rescue program and transferring food between our Lake City and Bitter Lake sites. Thank you all who made this possible!

The 2nd North Helpline Block Party is 10 days away and you don't want to miss it! ☀

Come to our Lake City Food Bank on Friday July 10th from 12pm-4pm and enjoy FREE FOOD and LIVE PERFORMANCES while celebrating our Lake City community!

🕛 When: Friday, July 10th, 2026 - 12 PM to 4 PM
📍 Where: 12736 33rd Ave NE - Right outside of our Lake City location!
👤 Who: This fun event is for our community: neighbors, kids, volunteers, and supporters are all welcome.
