The People's Harm Reduction Alliance

The People's Harm Reduction Alliance https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/PHRA/mdonate We operate multiple programs in western Washington state, as well as one statewide program.

The People’s Harm Reduction Alliance (PHRA) is a community-based nonprofit & drug user empowerment organization that has provided harm reduction and health services to people who use drugs since 2007. We are passionate about supporting drug users to live their own best possible lives – however they envision and define that, and on their own terms. Every day for the past 15 years, we have supported

folks on their individual paths to stability, independence, and wellbeing. PHRA operates under the assumption that no one knows what drug users need more than drug users. We choose to accept the reality of drug use and to humanize the people who use drugs by treating them with love and support, not anger and condescension. In our view, drug users are better served by compassion and respect than by criticism and punishment. PHRA strives to serve the needs of the drug-using community by distributing vital harm-reduction supplies within a respectful, non-judgmental context. We also serve our larger communities by providing syringe disposal, naloxone distribution and training, and through our advocacy work.

GiveBIG 2026 is underway!! People everywhere are coming together to support the Washington nonprofits they believe in. We hope the People's Harm Reduction Alliance (PHRA) is one of them for you!

Each and every day for nearly 19 years, PHRA has helped our community members live safer and healthier lives. We hope you'll join us today in changing and saving lives by making a donation on our GiveBig page: https://www.wagives.org/organization/phra. Big or small, every amount helps!

In 2025, PHRA logged 66,838 participant encounters via our physical Seattle locations, our multiple outreach van routes throughout King and Kitsap Counties, and our mail-order naloxone program serving all of Washington State. Through those 66,838 participant encounters last year alone, our programs distributed:

✅️ 1,240,500 sterile syringes

✅️ 137,906 injection alternatives kits

✅️ 21,914 fentanyl test strips

✅️ 98, 382 naloxone (a.k.a. Narcan) doses

All this is in addition to all the other supplies and services we offer: a variety of other health and hygiene supplies, used syringe disposal, overdose prevention and reversal training, Hep C testing and treatment, low-barrier suboxone treatment for those who want to change their relationship with opioids, reproductive health supplies and services, outdoor survival supplies, and much more! We have already seen significant increases in the need for our services this year and anticipate that to only continue.

Our life-changing and life-saving work is fueled in part by community members who share our passion for harm reduction. Your generous support will
assist us in continuing to engage, educate, and provide services for people who use drugs and many others in our communities.

All PHRA programs/services are open regular hours today & through the weekend. We're here with all the supplies you need to have a safe, happy, & tolerable holiday season. We recognize that this time of year can be extremely challenging for many of us, so we're also here to offer additional support by lending an understanding ear, sharing some special holiday treats, &/or just having a good laugh together. ❤️
