To create better lives for generations of children and youth by reforming the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.

Our vision is that all children, youth, and young adults are healthy, safe and thriving; cared for by their community; valued as they are; and have a sense of belonging. This vision, which will be realized upon the fulfillment of our mission, guides our work and moves us towards what is possible for our communities and our world. Our Approach
By convening and partnering with parents, advocates, service providers and policymakers, CCYJ develops and advances innovative approaches to systemic change to support kids, stabilize families, and strengthen communities. We work to achieve research-based, data-driven, tangible outcomes for generations of youth.

For the past 5 years, Jammies for Justice has invited supporters to make a difference from the comfort of home. This year, we're opening our doors for a cozy afternoon of community, conversation, and impact.

Join us for an afternoon of hot cocoa, cookie decorating, and friendship at our CCYJ offices. You can check out our Justice Library, try some homemade treats, or take in some special views of the Puget Sound.

Day One of LINC 2027 kicks off with Legislative Advocacy Day, a half-day convening designed to help community leaders, advocates, and CVI practitioners understand how policy change happens and how to influence it.

We'll move from Legislation 101 to coalition building and action planning, exploring policy opportunities around juvenile justice, reentry, resentencing, and support for Washington's CVI workforce.

Because community safety isn't just built on the ground. It's shaped in policy, too.

CCYJ's Early Childhood Court (ECC) program focuses on reducing trauma and improving how courts, child welfare, and child-serving organizations work together to support young children in, or at-risk of entering, the child welfare system.

The dedicated Community Coordinators who work with our ECCs facilitate collaborative meetings, support resource connections, and partner with child welfare and community agencies. Our work could not be done with them!

In response to the high number of young children in the child welfare system, in 2020, CCYJ launched the Early Childhood Court (ECC) program to expand the use of Safe Babies Courts in Washington State. Utilizing a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach, these courts focus on keeping together - or reunifying - families impacted by the child welfare dependency system.

This week, we will share more about the important work of ECCs, and the strides our team has made in the 6 years since launching the program.
