This space is ours! We recently partnered with the City of Seattle on a year-long project to bring together like-minded sustainable organizations to bring a building in Lake City back to life ♻️✨

This summer, this new space will be transformed into “Reuse Commons Lake City”! We’ll host classes and events, and we’ll be sharing the space with a number of reuse-and-repair-focused businesses and organizations.

This is all possible with support from the Seattle Office of Economic Development and Seattle Public Utilities .

We couldn't believe it, but these quilts really only took four hours to make! Even with some complete beginners in this class, everyone left with a completed four-block quilt 🪡✨

Everyone was really happy with their finished pieces and raved about not having to lug sewing machines or supplies around for the class. One participant was a mother of small kids, and she was especially grateful that she didn't have to bring or prepare anything and that she could just spend the day having fun for herself 🫶

A Pac-Man machine isn't the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of our Reuse Store, but it is one of the many items we've sold! Our Reuse Store is a never-ending adventure, ready for you to explore 👾♻️

📦 Reuse Store: seattlereconomy.org/reuse/

Our Reuse Store is first come, first serve and we do not hold items. Items are sold as-is, and all sales are final. You may call during open hours to check if an item is available at the time of the call, but there are no guarantees.

We also accept a wide range of donations during open hours (preferably not within 30 minutes of opening or closing)!

📍 Shoreline Tool Library (16610 Aurora Ave N)
Monday–Friday: 3pm–8pm
Saturday: 10am–3pm

A huge shoutout to Ava, our wonderful Reuse Store Manager (and Shoreline Tool Library Coordinator/Woodshop Manager/Makerspace Expert), who is off to more adventures near the end of the month. She has welcomed many curious things to the Reuse Store, from 4-foot-long telescopes to decades-old antique tools, and she has sent many of these items to new homes. We'll miss you! 🫶

Last month, we hosted our first-ever Seedling Festival at the NE Seattle Tool Library! Gardeners and plant lovers came from all over the place to trade seedlings, plants, and conversation 🌱☀️

A huge thank you to the Cider Sippers (Dan on banjo, Richard on fiddle, and Martha on guitar) who played some lovely tunes throughout the afternoon. We also had some wonderful volunteers who helped us set up the event and brought seedlings to share!
