Voting for the General Election begins tomorrow!! Ballots are sent out via mail. Make sure you're ready to vote by Election Day!

You can register/update register to vote online and via mail through October 30, and in-person through November 7 at 8pm. Once you've received your ballot, you can vote via ballot box, mail (make sure it's postmarked Nov 7 or earlier!!), or in-person at your local Voting Center.

Check your email this week for a list of resources on your Union's endorsements, how to get a ballot if you didn't receive yours, where to find a ballot box, what's on the ballot this year, and more (some links also in bio/stories). You can also follow for more resources and reminders!

With a long history of labor support, Bob fights for the values we uphold as a union including defending the Affordable Care Act from Republican attacks in the Supreme Court, defeating President Trump’s original Muslim Travel Ban, and successfully blocking President Trump’s decision to rescind DACA.

Come meet and mingle with coresidents/fellows in other programs, and get to know your Union leadership. We'll be answering all of your questions about member benefits/programs, CIR, becoming a department rep, running for the board in 2024, and more, while passing out our new RFPU/CIR swag!

Meet Dr. Mackenzie Paller-Moore (she/her), a member of your Union's board this academic year!

More about Mack: "I am a neurology resident just starting my PGY-2 year. I grew up and attended college in the Seattle area, but I went to medical school at Boston University. I am so excited to be back on this side of the country. I missed my mountains, multiple bodies of water, and easy winters. In my free time, I enjoy indoor rock climbing with my partner, playing music on my piano or cello, and cooking Filipino food (anything with glutinous sweet rice is my favorite). At work, I really enjoy medical education and am passionate about improving the learning environment. My specific career within neurology is currently undecided, but I most likely see myself pursuing outpatient subspecialty and general practice."

Mack shares a little about why she was interested in getting involved with RFPU, "I was interested in joining leadership for RFPU-NW because of the opportunity to improve the learning environment in residency. Residents are in a vulnerable position - providing an essential workforce for the hospitals, while also trying to obtain necessary education for our future careers. Through RFPU, I saw the power to make sure our labor is not taken advantage of and to help create an environment that allows for us to learn in an effective and healthy way."

Meet Dr. Kasra Sarhadi (he/him), a member of your Union's board this academic year!

More about Kasra: "I love to hike, paddle board, play soccer and pickle ball, as well as play acoustic guitar. I spend most nights at home with my fiancee and our cat, Gatsby!"

Trent shares a little about why he was interested in getting involved with RFPU, "I have always been interested in social advocacy work since my undergraduate years volunteering for a student-run health and social support services clinic. Now as a resident, I want to carry that same passion for advocacy into advocating for better and more fair work conditions for my fellow residents and I who give all that we have to caring for our patients."
