🧡 Today, we wear orange shirts to remember the children who never returned home from Indian boarding schools and residential schools. We honor the survivors, their families and communities, and recognize the lasting impacts that continue today.

Orange Shirt Day is also a time to celebrate the resilience, strength, and cultural knowledge that continue to thrive despite generations of attempts to erase Indigenous identities and traditions.

To continue the healing, we must listen with care when survivors are speaking, and learn from experiences different from our own. We encourage you to remember that Every Child Matters.

🍂 Fall means the kids are back in school and family gatherings are in the works! Make sure you add this to your list this season: protecting your loved ones by getting vaccinated against COVID and the flu.

These vaccines are safe and effective for preventing severe illness and are available for ages 6 months and older. We have updated COVID and flu vaccines at all three SIHB clinics: Lake City, Pioneer Square, and International District.

It’s World Pharmacist Appreciation Day, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team here at SIHB. The pharmacists at our three clinics work hard every day to make sure relatives get — and understand how to use — their medications.

This year saw increased service at all of our clinics as well as the rollout of a new process to serve future relatives at Thunderbird Treatment Center.

Thank you for the impressive collaboration that goes into the work you do!
