Cascade Bicycle Club

Cascade Bicycle Club Cascade Bicycle Club, the nation’s largest statewide bicycle nonprofit, serves bike riders of all ages and abilities throughout the state of Washington.

Club history
United by a love of bicycling, in 1970 a small group of bike riders founded Cascade Bicycle Club. Focusing on exceptional opportunities to ride and transforming the region through bicycling, two early successes were Chilly Hilly and the Burke-Gilman Trail. In the 1970s and 80s, the volunteer-led club went on to create STP and RSVP, two iconic bike events. Fueled by excellent leadershi

p and professional staff, in the 1990s and 2000s Cascade experienced rapid growth and expanded into bike education. In the 2010s, the organization’s size and stature has continued to grow. In 2014, to better serve its community, Cascade created the Cascade Bicycling Center. Learn more at www.cascade.org

A section of the East Lake Sammamish Trail (ELST) will be closed starting May 26, 2026 through the rest of the year so crews can replace aging culverts and expand salmon habitat.

Although the construction area is short, its location will temporarily split the trail into two separate sections. There will be no detour around the construction closure. The 600 ft trail closure area is located between Louis Thompson Rd NE and NE Inglewood Hill Rd.

Once the culverts under the trail have been completed, a new wide paved trail section will be built and high-quality salmon habitat on George Davis Creek will be accessible.

Thank you for your patience as we work to help recover local Kokanee salmon populations. Learn more about our Fish Passage Restoration Program at https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/dnrp/nature-recreation/environment-ecology-conservation/wildlife/fish-and-shellfish/fish-passage-program

More than 500 bicycle advocates – from cargo bike commuters to weekend riders – gathered yesterday at Cascade’s biggest annual fundraiser to explore how advocacy, education, and community building align to strengthen every neighborhood. Donors fuel Cascade's efforts to make Washington the most bike-friendly state in the nation, ensuring that everyone has safe places to bike and opportunities to pedal together. Thank you to everyone who supports Cascade and powers our mission! Watch the video and learn more about Cascade's Pedaling Relief Project.

For a few hours, once a day, one day a year, we gather for the fever dream that is Bike Everywhere Day in Seattle, WA. Your morning bicycle commute is slathered with little tent pop ups of small and big businesses and organizations that came out to celebrate with you.
A school hosted a bicycle cleaning station and had homemade bicycle decorations. One station had coffee and streamed bicycle races, another had scones, many had stickers, and few had maps, and ALL HAD THE GOOD VIBES.
Cheers to Bike Everywhere Day! And happy Bike Everywhere Month!
