Community Fund for Black Bar Applicants The Community Fund for Black Bar Applicants was founded by Octavia Carson, J.D. a 2020 law school graduate.

Our mission is to provide at least $500 to 100 Black bar exam applicants across the United States each year.

Long before social media and online publications, Black lawyers were creating spaces to discuss justice, civil rights, and legal reform.

In 1908, Black attorneys helped establish legal publications and networks that amplified Black legal scholarship during a time when mainstream institutions often excluded them.

These platforms became essential for sharing knowledge, mentoring young attorneys, and advocating for change.
