Peaks of Life

Peaks of Life Providing financial aid to PNW families that can not afford their children's healthcare at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Peaks of Life is an endeavor to help the children of the Northwest reach their full potential. We are a guild with Seattle Children's Hospital focused on raising funds for uncompensated health care. We, too, believe that the world's best medical attention should be available to every child regardless of economic status. To realize this vision, we raise funds through our efforts in the mountains an

d community events. In the mountains, we climb the most prominent peaks in the Pacific Northwest and the world while collecting pledges to bring awareness and funds to pay for children's health care. Within the community we host fundraising events and work directly with the children of the Northwest to encourage a healthy lifestyle and promote outdoor fluency. Our proceeds go toward helping children and families overcome the burden of medical expenses, so that kids can get back to being kids, and families can continue raising our next generation.

Rumor has it that our team found the only camera-savvy pika to snap this photo for them at Snowfield Peak after the original plan to climb Mount Baker was thwarted due to a forecast of inclement weather. (More on that in an upcoming blog post!) ๐ŸŒง

Weโ€™d also like to thank our climbers and the community for helping us reach fundraising goals this climbing season to benefit Seattle Children's. So far, weโ€™ve raised $20,513.39 (and counting) from our climbs this year and itโ€™s not too late to make a contribution! ๐Ÿ”

Today is also the LAST DAY to purchase tickets for our annual gala on September 21st before the cost increase. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ

More Than A Summit has published a new blog post! || The Peaks of Life team headed out Mount Rainier via Kautz Glacier in a single-push climb on June 16, 2018. Though the team did not summit that day, three of the climbers from the climb later roped up to conquer Kautz on 7/21, with a successful summit! Read the trip report on our blog to read about how Peaks of Life brought together a dedicated team and the various conditions encountered.

More Than A Summit has published a new blog post! || As promised, every Friday we will be releasing a trip report from our busy climbing season. Today, we highlight Mt. Shuksan's Fisher Chimneys route climbed on July 7-8. In the words of Fred Beckey, Fisher Chimneys is a "clever and tortuous route, not technically difficult, yet involving stimulating route finding." Our team did not summit as a rescue happening on the summit block due to rockfall caused a 1.5-2 hour delay. Yet, the team still experienced incredible views, and for a few members, a first alpine/glacier climb that won't soon be forgotten! Read more on our blog.
