Radically inclusive small-sided soccer league where adults of all skill levels, sizes, and ages can get into (or get back into) the game and have fun! We create new teams every season (spring and fall) in two divisions, the beginner-friendly Classic division, and the slightly more competitive and experienced Premier division. We also have free open Pub League Offseason Practices (PLOPs) every Sund

ay the league is not in session. Matches are played 7v7 or 8v8 on roughly a half-sized field using modified FIFA Outdoor rules (no going to the ground, no challenges from behind/blind spots, etc). All matches are officiated by trained and/or USSF-certified referees. Originally founded as the ECS FC Academy, the ECS Pub League is an excellent way for our fellow supporters, their friends and family to play in an organized league and have fun in the process. Players with playing experience are encouraged to join the league as team coaches and mentors. If you have competed in any of the other soccer leagues around Seattle (RATS, GSSL, Arena Sports), or have college or club experience, this league is probably not for you. ECS Pub League is a part of ECS FC, the nonprofit soccer club established by Emerald City Supporters, a Sounders FC supporters group. ECS FC fields more competitive men’s, women’s, and coed teams in other leagues in the Seattle area. We encourage you to check it out if that sounds like more your speed. https://www.ecsfc.com/

We have some sad news to share of one of our friends and sponsors:

To the Pub League Family,

Last Friday, Burc McFarlen, the owner and operator of Beer Authority in Lake City, suffered a heart attack. Late Tuesday he was taken off life support and passed away peacefully surrounded by several of his close friends.

Burc was a loud and proud sponsor and supporter of Pub League, an ECS member, and a champion of Seattle soccer in general. Among the items he took with him when he passed was his first ECS scarf.

He was a massive part of the community. He was a beacon of joy and hope. He looked after our unhoused neighbors and fought to make our neighborhood a better place for everyone.

We don’t yet have information about a memorial service, but the community has been keeping Beer Authority open, and friends have been gathering there to toast the Big Guy and share stories and memories. Please feel free to stop by and do the same.

Burc was one of my great friends, and I am happy that so many of you were able to meet him and spend time in his quirky little beer bar. I will move through this week with a heavy heart, but I cannot wait to take the field with you all on Sunday.

In the meantime we can all honor Burc’s memory by putting kindness and joy out into the world. Look out for one another. Spread love unconditionally.

And don’t drink beer with racists.
