ATD Puget Sound Chapter

07/28/2026

Whether you're stepping into a new leadership role, navigating a career transition, or simply looking to lead with greater clarity and intention, this session is for you.

Drawing from his own journey and executive coaching experience, Keith Lewis will walk attendees through a powerful, practical process for uncovering core values, organizing them into meaningful themes, and translating them into a personal set of guiding principles.

Because great leadership starts from the inside out, and when you know who you are, every next step becomes clearer.

One Last Invitation

Applications for our next mentorship cohort close tomorrow.

Over the past few weeks, we've shared stories from participants and mentors who learned, connected, and grew together.

If one message has stood out, it's this:
Professional growth is stronger when it's shared.

If you're ready to invest in your own growth while becoming part of a supportive community of talent development professionals, we'd love to welcome you.

Applications close July 25.

We are thrilled to share that Ayla Blacklaw is our Volunteer of the Quarter!

As Social Media Coordinator, Ayla has helped us up our game as a chapter by bringing creative visuals and a consistent voice to our social media presence.

Her most visible impact has been creating eye-catching and appealing visuals that bring our programs to life. Equally as important, she has made it a priority to ensure our social posts include alt text to accompany visuals, making our content accessible to a broader audience.

More Than Mentor Matching

A successful mentoring relationship is important.

But it's only part of the experience.

Throughout the cohort, participants also learn through:
• Workshops
• Networking events
• Office hours
• Slack discussions
• Resource sharing
• Conversations with fellow talent development professionals

Together, these experiences create something bigger than mentoring.

They create a learning community.

Looking for more than a mentoring match?

Growth Looks Different for Everyone

Across multiple mentorship cohorts, participants described many different outcomes.

Some were promoted.

Some successfully transitioned into new roles.

Others gained confidence, clarity, or a stronger professional network.

There wasn't one common outcome.

There was one common experience.

They learned alongside people who understood their work.

That's what Learning in Community means to us.

Because professional growth is stronger when it's shared.

Where could your professional growth take you over the next four and a half months?

Mentoring Is a Two-Way Learning Experience

People often ask why experienced professionals choose to become mentors.

Giving back is certainly part of it.

But after each cohort, mentors tell us they gained just as much.

They strengthened their coaching skills.

Expanded their professional networks.

Gained fresh perspectives.

And learned alongside their mentees.

As one mentor shared: "Teaching others helps you grow on a professional and personal level."

That's the beauty of mentoring.

Professional growth is stronger when it's shared.

Ready to share your experience while continuing to grow yourself?

👥 Apply as a Mentor:

Welcome to the 2026 ATD Puget Sound Mentorship Program application! This 4.5-month program (July 30 – December 14) brings together learning and talent development professionals who believe that growth happens when we learn with and from one another. This cohort is centered on the theme Learning in...

One Conversation Changed Everything

One participant shared a story we'll never forget.

They were reflecting on an eLearning solution they had created under tight deadlines.

Instead of talking about what went well, they focused on everything they wished they had done differently.
Their mentor paused and said:
"Actually... I'm proud of that work."

That single sentence completely changed how they viewed their own work.

Sometimes mentoring isn't about giving advice.

Sometimes it's about helping someone recognize the value they're already creating.

Professional growth is stronger when it's shared.

If this story resonates with you, imagine what four and a half months of conversations like these could mean for your own growth.
