Founded in 2009, HKAW Foundation engages in events that support the advancement of Asian American and Pacific Islander in the fields of Education, Health, Science, Athletic, and Human Services. Celebration: The gala will feature traditional Lion Dance by the Master David Leong Shaolin Kung Fu School, a 40-dress fashion show by Luly Yang Couture, a 52-member Seattle Chinese Orchestra and guest perf

ormance by famous Chinese Jing Hu artist Lucy Wu. Fundraising: The Hong Kong Association of Washington Foundation utilize this first class event as a fundraiser for different charitable causes, past donation has been made to Seattle Children's Hospital, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and others. The benefactor for the 2012 Chinese New Year Gala will be the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment, in their noble work of assisting individuals with developmental disabilities to obtain sustainable and gainful employment.

The Hong Kong Association of Washington Foundation hosted the Chinese Lunar New Year Gala to benefit the Bruce Lee Action Museum. This event kicked-off our dream of building the Bruce Lee Action Museum in Seattle, a place that was very dear to my father.

Congratulations on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. Once she said Hong Kong was one of the jewels on her crown. Almost 15 years after Hong Kong's handover to China in 1997, she is viewed as the eternal monarch for many Hong Kongers, whom still cherish the period under British rule.

As a former British territory, the Queen’s Jubilee has resonance in Hong Kong.
