🙌 Announcing the 2026–27 Beyond Baroque Season!

Our 2026–2027 season continues to explore the theme Beyond Baroque, unfolding as a vibrant journey across cultures, voices, and time. It represents the start of our 50th anniversary celebrations with bold imagination and a global perspective.

Explore the season today: earlymusicseattle.org

From the grandeur of Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Vergine” (1610) to three richly curated festivals—Crossroads of Time, tracing the sounds of trade and conquest; In Her Voice, centering powerful female artistry and poetic expression; and Mediterranean Currents, weaving together stories from Lebanon, Italy, and Persia—the season highlights connection, migration, and cultural dialogue. Anchored by legendary artists like Chanticleer and Jordi Savall, whose work has shaped the evolution of early music worldwide, this milestone year honors EMS’s legacy while embracing a future defined by inclusivity, discovery, and renewal.

Eight glorious days and nights filled with music, art, touring, and great food and company in the beautiful Netherlands. Early Music Seattle’s Artistic Director Gus Denhard and Executive Director Ludovica Punzi lead the way on this performance filled journey to the Festival Oude Muziek – the world’s largest early music festival, held annually in Utrecht city center for ten days at the end of August. Since 1982, the festival has showcased music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Baroque eras in over 250 events per edition, drawing more than 70,000 visitors. The festival features prestigious musicians and emerging talent, along with fringe concerts and coaching sessions and is renowned for its historically informed performances, innovative programming, and its role as a meeting place for leading early music specialists from around the globe.

🤝 Create Early Music Experiences of Impact — Today!

➡️ GiveBig: earlymusicseattle.org/givebig

This year's GiveBig theme calls us all to “show up” to make a difference in our communities! Early Music Seattle is committed to “showing up” for Washington by growing our partnerships with our local Art Museums, Galleries, local artists, culture bearers, and the wider arts community in order to bring deep, impactful experiences. Throughout the 2025–26 Beyond Baroque Festival Season, this vision took shape across more than 50 events, each free and open to all!

Thanks to an anonymous EMS Patron, all donations made during the campaign will be matched — up to $25,000! We are already over halfway to that goal. Whether you give a little or a lot, every donation will help ensure the future of early music in Seattle and beyond!

🌼🎶 The Spring Festival Starts Now! 🎟️ earlymusicseattle.org/spring

Don't miss this weekend of discovery that carries us “beyond” borders, traditions, and expectations. This festival’s journey unfolds through performances by the Twelfth Night Ensemble, pianist Patricia García Gil, and violinist Lindsey Strand-Polyak, alongside a rare opportunity to step inside the craft itself with a violin demonstration by master luthier Timothy Johnson.

We invite you to immerse yourself fully in all this weekend's events – both educational and performative – and recognize with us that the intellect inspires the heart. Please also help us celebrate and value our partnerships with Seattle Art Museum and Frye Art Museum, and the opportunities to experience the arts collectively and collaboratively.
