Etiquette Quick Tips: By Clise Etiquette
- If you're approached by a coworker requesting a donation for a cause that you don't care about, simply say, "Thanks for thinking of me. I have a few favorite charities that I support and I need to stick to giving to them at this time."
* I hope the 2012 Class Gift will continue to be on your list of favorites! :)
- When visiting someone's office, don't stand if the host is sitting.
- Collect the coat check ticket(s) from your dinner guest(s) and tip the attendant $1.00 per coat.
- Using the email recall function usually does not keep the sender from seeing the email. Make sure it's ready to be sent the first time.
- If you don't know the correct pronunciation of someone's name ask.
- In meetings keep your feet on the floor or crossed at the ankles, otherwise you risk looking disengaged and too casual.
