Our K–5 students jumped into a hands-on math project today with our wonderful math teacher Maddy, exploring the idea of radial symmetry — how shapes repeat around a center point, just like a snowflake! Using quilling paper, line art, and careful rotation, the kids experimented with balance, pattern, and mirrored design.

We love seeing our multi-age groups learn side-by-side — older students supporting younger ones, and everyone creating something amazing together. 💙✨

This week our teachers brewed warm apple cider for the students, and sent home handmade spice blends and a family recipe so the celebration could continue at home. 🧡
In art class, students created placemats by printing with real fruits and vegetables — turning apples, peppers, broccoli, and carrots into patterns of color and joy.

At Matheia, learning happens through touch, scent, color, curiosity and community.
Gratitude isn’t something we only talk about;
it’s something we create, share, and notice in one another.

As we give thanks, we also hold space for those who may be facing a harder season. Sometimes kindness is the truest form of gratitude.

Sharing this a little late, but the joy and connection from our Halloween celebration are too special not to highlight. At Matheia, Halloween is a joyful tradition where students get to showcase their costumes, share creativity, and celebrate together.

This year, our students also visited Merrill Gardens, bringing costumes, conversation, and lots of smiles to the residents.

This wasn’t just a festive outing — it was a hands-on learning moment. Students practiced kindness, communication, and confidence as they shared their work and listened to the residents’ stories.

Moments like this show how learning at Matheia extends beyond the classroom and into the community. 💛
