The YC Studio Kate Wallich in a non-profit arts organization that supports the work of The YC, YC2 and Dance Church.

In 2016, Kate created Kate Wallich 501(c)(3) as an umbrella organization to further support her on-going projects in dance, performance, film, and education and to provide a platform to engage, challenge, and immerse audiences into both the educational and experiential components of the work. The organization supports the work of The YC, YC2 and Dance Church. Our vision is a collaborative and conn

ected community that engages and supports uncompromising dance projects. The YC was founded by Kate Wallich in 2010 with co-founder Lavinia Vago. The YC is comprised of artists who collaborate on new works under the direction of Kate Wallich. The YC has produced numerous film, photography, and site specific projects, and has remiered 3 evening length works since 2014. The YC has been presented Velocity Dance Center, On the Boards, Seattle Theater Group and Jacob’s Pillow Dance, and is premiering a new evening length production Dream Dances at On the Boards in December 2017. YC2 is a platform for dancers to exercise creative agency while receiving consistent training, rehearsal, and performance opportunities. YC2 is a partnership between Kate Wallich and Velocity Dance Center and is the company is residence at Velocity. Dance Church is an all-abilities movement class that offers a communal, non-exclusive approach to dancing with weekly classes in Seattle. Dance Church is a dance-centric, full-body workout designed for people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and identities.

It is our duty to reject racism and dismantle white supremacy, especially those of us who benefit from it. Community accountability and sustained resistance are necessary for systemic change — even when we’re uncomfortable.

We want everybody to feel free through movement, to have the space to heal and process, to show up for each other no matter what. This is only possible when we take action together.�
