Ana, Alexis, and their two children are loving Beacon Hill family who are facing an unimaginably painful and destabilizing moment. Originally from Mexico but in the U.S. for more than 5 years, Alexis was taken by ICE, sent to the Northwest Detention Center, and then quickly transferred to the Mississippi Detention Center (Adams County), a common tactic to separate those who are taken from their communities of support. In Mississippi it is much more difficult, if not impossible, to fight his detention, request a bond hearing, or petition for habeas so he can return home to his family. In the meantime, Ana is left trying to hold everything together while caring for their 1-year-old and 8-year-old, who is a student at a Beacon Hill neighborhood elementary school. Before being taken, Alexis had also been caring for the children two days a week while Ana worked, and the childcare she has found since has been unacceptable.

Their family is now navigating fear, separation, and impossible decisions all at once. This fundraiser will help Ana cover daily necessities like rent, utilities, childcare, and food while she determines what is next for their family.

At a time when so much feels uncertain, this support can help create a little breathing room and stability for Ana and the kids. These are terrible times, and so many people feel isolated and alone. It does not have to be that way. Together, Beacon Hill can show up for Ana, Alexis, and their children with real care and practical support. If you are able, please give what you can and help remind this family that they are not facing this alone.
