ABX-Audiophiles is a Washington State Non-Profit with a 501c3 designation. We run an audiophile social media community that includes Discord, YouTube, Instagram, and Patreon. Basically, 95+ % of the revenue we generate is donated to Youth Musical Programs that our community chooses. The only revenue we keep goes to the small cost of the website and a few basic subscriptions. Zero revenue is used f

or any personal compensation of any kind. We do not do paid or sponsored reviews. We review gear that our community is interested in. There are endless ways to raise money for our youth, but what better way than helping them create music? Because, at the end of the day, if our youth don't create the music, we have nothing. James

One of the best Streamer/DAC combos I have had this year! If you value Clarity, Resolution, and Accuracy, the Silent Angel Munich MU has to be on your short list in the price point. We put it up against the Meitner MA3i and my reference Air Lens and DirectStream MKII (both combos exceeding $10,000) and were impressed by how well the MU1 held its own against the giants. I am NOT claiming any 'Giant Slayer' here, as I do not believe that is a thing, but for the money, if the Silent Angel is your vibe, it will be hard to beat in its price point. I’ve had about a week with the Wilson Sophia III as my reference (huge thanks to Jason Kennedy at JS Audio), and it's been an experience I’m so glad I forced myself to have. Just hearing how far my gear can scale with a speaker like the S-III in the chain is mind-bending. It’s sound on a level I never expected to have in my room.

It’s easily—and I mean EASILY—the most precise and accurate soundstage I’ve ever heard. The timing and pace are simply jaw-dropping. The ability to retrieve and portray every micro-detail with absolute perfection, suspended effortlessly within the stage, is incredibly addictive. I’ve rarely experienced this level of performance outside of a few ultra-high-end sessions at boutique shops or shows.

This is the largest, deepest, and widest in-room projection I’ve ever experienced, and it isn’t even close. The S-III’s ability to project a stage is boggling when it hits, yet it never feels forced. For tracks that are meant to stay centered—like a few Florence + The Machine pieces I’ve been spinning—everything stays exactly where it belongs, never artificially expanded just to impress.

Realism. Damn that word, and damn you, La Dolce Audio! I’m learning that there are multiple layers to "realism," and while I’m not sure I can define them all yet, I know that realism is not perfection. However, a speaker like the S-III, with its ultra-precision, lends itself to a style of realism that is INSANE.

While the LDA system has more lifelike realism in the "tone" of the instruments, the S-III is unmatched in its ability to literally place a singer or instrument in the room. It’s so believable you feel like you could get up and shake their hand. The room instantly vaporizes, and all that’s left is the music. You’re no longer just listening to Ben Webster and the realism of his horn; you are SEEING Ben Webster standing in your space, playing just for you.

I’ve always been pretty adamant that if you create a space that looks as good as it sounds the music will benefit and the whole experience is elevated. Yesterday we added a full length back drop to the system and man! I really love it. Little bit of work, but the vibe feels so great. Well worth it!! Wilson Sophia III at the helm, Pass Labs INT60, PS Audio digital front end. Professional system install and set up by JS Audio!
