It’s almost here — Wednesday, May 6 is Viewlands Elementary Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day! 💙💚

Join the morning commute (7:10–7:30am) and celebration (7:30–8am) for a fun, all-ages kickoff to the school day.

⭐ Led bike + walk/roll groups from nearby spots
⭐ Celebration at school with treats, stickers, safety gear & Ollie the Orca

We still need volunteers! Help lead routes or support the celebration table — no SPS approval needed for some roles.

Viewlands will celebrate the joy of active commuting and school spirit as we walk, bike, and roll together before school starts (7:10-7:30am commute; 7:30-8am celebrate at school). This is a fun, all-ages community event, and a great way to start the school day with energy!
⭐ Volunteers will lead bike and walk/roll groups from nearby meeting spots
⭐ There will be a celebration table at school with treats, stickers, an event poster to sign, free safety gear, and Ollie the Viewlands Orca!

We need volunteers! You can support our bike routes or our celebration table at school without being an SPS approved volunteer, reach out to [email protected] to signup! If you are an approved SPS volunteer, we'd love your support as a crossing guard with several positions opened, or with walking group support.

Great local resource here! 🚲 💕

Joseph purchased a bike for his 4-year-old on Facebook Marketplace, but it needed some love.. Luckily, he's been a tool library member since November, so he just visited Andrew at the Shoreline Tool Library Bike Shack and got it fixed right up 🚲🫶

On top of access to thousands of borrowable tools, being a tool library member means access to the expertise of our Bike Shack veloteers at the NE Seattle Tool Library and Shoreline Tool Library. Not only that, but our Bike Shacks are centered on hands-on learning, so when you come in to get your bike fixed, you're also going to learn more about maintaining your bike!

So, what are the costs associated with becoming a member and getting your bike fixed? Let's look into it!

While we have suggested membership options, we're pay-what-you-can at heart! This is similar to our bike servicing prices, where we ask for $20 per hour, but no one is turned away for lack of funds, and we never ask for proof of income.
