Representatives of charities and agencies serving poor, homeless & hungry people & those with special needs are available meet one-on-one with people seeking volunteer positions. There are also speakers, special sessions & workshops on topics related to important community needs.

Sincere thanks to everyone who supported our efforts to bring the community together and to serve the needs of our poor, hungry, marginalized neighbors and those with special needs. In case you didn't see it, here is the front-page article on homelessness that appeared in today's New York Times. It clearly describes the epidemic that is engulfing our nation, including Seattle, which is briefly mentioned. Now the challenge is finding the solution. As the story points out, $100 million is only a drop in the bucket.

The city’s plan will focus on housing and service programs to get an estimated 26,000 homeless people off the streets.
