We're very excited for the opening on May 2 of our international art exhibit featuring works by Nantes artist Eric Fonteneau and Seattle artist Suze Woolf! Today was the second day of installation. The gallery is Base Camp Studios 2, 1901 3rd Ave, in Seattle, upstairs in the old Bergman Luggage building. More details here https://www.seattle-nantes.org/ It's free and open to the public.

We're bringing together Seattle artist Suze Woolf and Nantes artist Eric Fonteneau for an exhibition of tree and forest-oriented drawings and a textile installation. The artists use trees as a barometer of and a metaphor for the dramatic climate changes that affect our planet and ultimately ourselves.

Exhibit runs May 2-24, 2026 at Base Camp Studios 2
1901 3rd Ave, Seattle
Belltown Art Walk May 8, 2026, 6-9pm (artists in gallery)
Regular Gallery Hours Friday 2-6pm, Saturday & Sunday Noon – 4 pm

Thanks to generous funding from the Neighborhood Matching Fund from the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods ad the Alliance Française de Seattle the exhibit is free and open to the public.

Celebrate International Women’s Day at the 2nd annual Seattle Sister Cities’ Soup Sampling, sponsored by the Seattle Sister Cities Association in partnership with the National Nordic Museum. The Soup Sampling is a community event where volunteer cooks from 10 Seattle Sister Cities share popular international soups representing four continents. Guests need to bring only a smile and an interest in tasting new recipes and learning about diverse cultures. Please register for the event before March 1st; walk-in admission will not be available.

This is a cultural event that includes five soup tastings per entry. Donations of $10 per person are encouraged and benefit the nonprofit Seattle Sister Cities Association to support cultural, educational, and humanitarian programs. From Seattle's 20 sister cities, the following will be represented at this event: Reykjavik, Iceland; Bergen, Norway; Pecs, Hungary; Be'er Sheva, Israel; Christchurch, New Zealand; Mombasa, Kenya; Sihanoukville, Cambodia; Perugia, Italy; Surabaya, Indonesia; Hai Phong, Vietnam; and Kobe, Japan.
