“Congress should finally put an end to this immense competitive disadvantage for the Northwest Seaport Alliance, comprising the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, and other U.S. gateways. By extending the harbor tax to land borders, lawmakers could ensure goods destined for the U.S. market — regardless of their seaport of entry — would be subject to it.”

Congress should put an end to a costly harbor tax loophole that diverts hundreds of thousands of containers each year from the ports of Seattle and Tacoma.

Please sign onto ILWU Local 23’s petition to the Port of Tacoma and demand they block Husky Terminal’s efforts to automate cargo handling and eliminate good union jobs. Port leaders should work for our communities, not against them. Sign here 👉 actionnetwork.org/petitions/husky-ai
