The Morgan Junction All-Wheels Association (MJAWA) will be attending the Morgan Junction Community Festival!

MJAWA is a grassroots organization consisting of parents from the community, leadership from crucial community partners like Skate Like A Girl, and seasoned Seattle skatepark advocates.

Funded by a Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Neighborhood Matching Funds grant, they are working in partnership with the Morgan Community Association (MoCA), Morgan Junction businesses, and Seattle Parks and Recreation to help activate the existing park and bring safe and accessible wheeled recreation to Morgan Junction.

TOMORROW MARKS ONE WEEK UNTIL THE MORGAN JUNCTION COMMUNITY FESTIVAL

Tomorrow, there will be just one week until the Morgan Junction Community Festival kicks-off on Saturday, June 14th from 10 am to 2 pm in and around Morgan Junction Park. The annual family friendly event has live entertainment, local musicians, vendors aplenty, and the Morgan Junction Community.

You’ll find ENTERTAINMENT for all ages in Morgan Junction Park:

Visit with VENDORS in the parking lot behind Zeeks/ Whisky West, on Beveridge Place SW and in Morgan Junction Park. (Be sure to check out the child-friendly interactive activities):

· Commercial vendors include artists and crafts persons, chair massage, financial advisers, and facial advisers.

· Learn about MJAWA: the Morgan Junction All Wheels Association, Schmitz Park Creek Restore, Mode Music and Performing Arts, the West Seattle Neighborhood Shelter, the West Seattle Food Bank, Seattle Emergency HUBS, and A Cleaner Alki.

· Community Groups include Seattle Police Department, Gatewood Elementary PTA, SPD Community Service Officers, and the 34th District Democrats - where you can register to vote.

Live entertainment kicks off the June 14th Morgan Junction Community Festival promptly at 10:00 am in Morgan Junction Park. There will be some seats around the park but feel free to BYOS (Bring Your Own Seat!) We’ve got an incredible lineup!

MoCA is grateful to have The Bubbleman open the Morgan Junction Community Festival. Fizzy fun facts from Bubbleman’s website: “Weather permitting, my bubbles can attain lengths of 50 feet or more and can be as big as a baby elephant. Bubble weather is cool, calm, and cloudy. We are just pumped that Mikey the Rad Scientist is returning to the Festival. He has an amazing talent to bring science and nature to life with his creative, interactive and engaging music. We’re pleased to welcome Crush on Her X to the Festival. They are a local Seattle-Tacoma band that plays originals and feel-good covers from the past to the present. The Art of Music is back in Morgan Junction with Terra Nova Duo at Alki Arts!

Terra Nova Duo performs a diverse array of music from decades past, with a mixture of Jazz, Pop, Bossa Nova, and Rock, creatively combined with the classic sounds of violin and guitar.

Alki Arts (6030 California Avenue SW) is also hosting a group show, 'Rising Above' with featured artists Steffanie Lorig, Joanne Shellan, Steve Jensen, and Lisa Lamoreaux.

Come enjoy live music at the Art Walk! The Art of Music is in Admiral, Alaska, and Morgan Junctions.
