PEPS isn't about pushing a specific parenting philosophy - it's about empowering parents to be confident, connected, and supported through the highs and lows that come with parenthood.

Today is Juneteenth - a holiday that has been celebrated in many Black communities since the 1860s. Juneteenth recognizes the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas received news of the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared the formal end to slavery in the US, nearly 2.5 years after it was issued.

Wondering how to talk with your kids about Juneteenth? Check out this guide from the National Museum of African American History and Culture with tips on how to talk about slavery and freedom in age-appropriate ways, an activity to inspire hope and activism, and recommendations for children's books and additional resources:https://nmaahc.si.edu/sites/default/files/files/nmaahc_kids_-_juneteenth_resource.pdf

Last month, we wrapped up our Parents of Adolescents and Teens group in partnership with FamilyWorks. Parents finished the group feeling energized, supported, and equipped with new tools for everyday parenting challenges. Parents shared how meaningful it was to practice initiating conversations with their kids about real-life topics while learning alongside other caregivers in a welcoming, dynamic space.

As one parent shared, β€œI like that the information is shared in a dynamic way, and if we don’t know something, we can ask questions and learn from other experiences."
