Kyle Fulwiler was a founding member of Les Dames d’Escoffier Seattle, acting as Chapter Administrator, helping manage its events and members, its online presence, and much more. She was also the Executive Chef for the Governor’s Mansion for over twenty years, serving under governors Spellman, Gardner, Lowry, Locke, and Gregoire, and likewise helped to administer the Governor’s Mansion Foundation. Beyond her accolades, she was a kind-hearted and generous soul, well-loved by friends, family, and colleagues. Her warm smile came easily, as shown in the photos below. Aside from the culinary arts, her interests included figure skating, gardening, cultivating orchids, computers, and running a local weather station. She loved traveling the world with her husband Mike, fly-fishing in Alaska and trying new things, but also the tranquility of her family home on the Hood Canal. The Fourth of July was her favorite holiday and she was a fan of Jackson Browne. She always had a soft spot for frogs 🐸 but also cared for cats and geese.
We will miss her delightful boxes of Christmas cookies, her hospitality, care, and good humor. Rest in peace, Kyle.
