For the fourth consecutive year, NMTA partnered with GMA Research, a Bellevue-based consumer insights firm, to evaluate the 2026 Seattle Boat Show.

Beyond the standout Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 80% shared in the last WaterLife, here are five key takeaways:

1. Strong first-time attendance: 24% of guests were first-timers. We’re pleased that this number has continued to increase since we started with GMA Research in 2023 and that with such a high NPS, many are likely to return.

2. A social experience: 52% attended in pairs, while 22% came in groups of four or more.

3. Clear motivations: Top drivers include gathering information, seeing what’s new, finding deals, buying accessories, and comparing boat models.

4. High satisfaction: 90% said the show met or exceeded expectations.

5. Effective marketing: 75% of attendees recalled seeing advertising, promotions, or media coverage.

These insights reinforce the show’s strong appeal, impactful marketing, and consistently positive guest experience.

Seattle Boat Show Earns World-Class Rating from Attendees

For the fourth year in a row, NMTA partnered with GMA Research, a leading Bellevue-based consumer research firm, to survey attendees at the Seattle Boat Show. The goal: gather valuable feedback and measure overall satisfaction using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) — the gold standard for assessing customer loyalty.

According to Bain & Co., creators of the NPS system:

A score above 50 is considered good to excellent
A score above 80 is considered world-class
We’re proud to report an overall NPS of 80% from all guests and 86% from first-time guests.

This is the second year in a row that we have received the extraordinary NPS of 80%. It has increased from 73% in 2023, the first year GMA Research conducted the exit surveys.

These outstanding results reflect the strength of our show, the passion of our exhibitors, and the enthusiasm for boating in the Northwest. Thank you for helping make this possible.
