Today marked the start of Electives! Each year, our students dive into four unique Elective sessions, each one offering six one-hour classes filled with creativity, curiosity, and hands-on fun. From a wide array of options, every student gets to choose what sparks their interest most!

This session's lineup (in alphabetical order!) includes "Baking Soda," "Board Game Design," "Comedy Club," "Fall Feasting," "Harvest Time," "Magic," "Masks," "Thriller," "Volleyball," and "World Records!" We can't wait to see what they create!

What better way to start a new school year than with coffee and new connections? ☕️

After drop-off on the first day of school, our families gathered for coffee, treats, and conversation as we kicked off the year together. Gatherings like this are such a wonderful way to build our family community and bring people together beyond the classroom!

And a HUGE thank-you to Desmond's family for hosting us so generously! We are very grateful for the warm welcome and the fantastic start to a new year 💚

This morning, we gathered for our very first All-School Meeting of the year! 🎉 Every Friday, the whole school comes together in the gym to learn what's happening across the school, practice our estimation skills, sing together, and so much more! It's a wonderful way to connect across grade levels and build our multi-age community, and we love getting to begin each Friday this way.

And we're not done yet! Later today, we'll head out for another beloved Spruce Street School tradition: our all-school walk to Cascade Park every Friday afternoon! 🌲

We have TWO more amazing groups of people to celebrate on this "special" day... our specialists and our Extended Day staff! We didn't quite fit everyone into this one photo, but we are so lucky to have such an incredible group of teachers who enrich our school day through art, music, PE, Spanish, and a ton of before- and after-school fun! 💚
