Hey Uptown, Look Down! ⬇️
🎨A fresh new sidewalk installation created by artist Grace Gonzalez grace gonzalez is bringing another splash of creativity to Uptown’s public space just outside of KEXP

The project is a collaboration between the Uptown Arts and Culture Coalition’s Artist in Residence program and Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Dept of Transportation. This residency program was created not only to support an emerging artist’s creative practice, but to provide an opportunity to develop their capacity as an arts and community leader with hands-on experience with the public arts process.

Special thanks to our supporters at Seattle Office of Arts & Culture Climate Pledge Arena and Uptown Alliance

💚💙Seattle didn’t just host the FIFA World Cup for 6 matches, we welcomed the world and put it on the map!!!🗺️📍🎆

Over just two weeks, the entire region saw:
⚽ 750,000+ fans at official Fan Celebrations
🚈 1.1 million transit rides during the first two match days
✈️ Three of the busiest travel days in SEA Airport history
🚲 675,000+ Lime rides
🌊 Record-breaking attendance at our major parks and public spaces
🏙️ Historic foot traffic in and a Guinness World Record in the International District.

But the biggest story wasn’t the records, it was the people that made it possible to gather safely and with celebration.

Neighbors, volunteers, small business owners, artists, transit workers, and communities across Seattle came together to show the world what makes our city so special. Thank you!

What were some of your standout moments during the last few weeks of the beautiful game? ⚽️🌎💙💚
