WEEKLY HAPPENINGS 10/10-10/16

Join us Sunday, October 11th for our first para ice hockey scrimmage at Kraken Community Iceplex. For the third year running, we’ll launch our season with a friendly against seattle._pd. The game starts at 2:30 p.m. on rink 1, with a $15 suggested donation at the door. We will also have team sweatshirts for sale!

Sending out a huge thanks to all the volunteers who came out last weekend to Kraken Community Iceplex to learn more about sled hockey and prepare for the season ahead. So many energetic students from programs at Univ. of Washington Doctor of Physical Therapy UW PM&R Residency UW Master of P&O UW Department of Rehabilitation Medicine University of Washington Division of Occupational Therapy showed up to learn about adjusting adaptive seating, getting athletes onto the ice, pushing athletes with upper body mobility restrictions, and managing all our gear—and most got to give the sport a try themselves! We ❤️ our Husky volunteers! We appreciate UW Medicine for their financial support and all the wonderful folks they send our way.

Welcome to fall! The rain is back, reminding us (after a glorious summer!) why Seattle is an awesome city for indoor team sports. 😆 Our wheelchair basketball programs are in full swing for ages 4 and up—please contact us at [email protected] to sign up!

Para ice hockey practice starts next week, on October 4th. Thanks so much to all the volunteers who are helping us get ready for hockey season this weekend! We are gearing up again with more equipment, new sled-fitting materials, and more ice time than ever—and amazing support from the student and faculty community at UW Department of Rehabilitation Medicine and UW Medicine ❤️🙏

WEEKLY HAPPENINGS 8/8-8/14

Join us this Monday night for Inclusion Night at the Seattle Storm game vs. Chicago Sky ! During halftime, our Prep and Varsity youth wheelchair basketball teams will be doing a demo on the court. Thanks so much to Seattle Storm and Premera Blue Cross for giving us this awesome opportunity again! Join us at 7 p.m. Monday—we’ll also have a table and would love to meet new athletes. And $5 of every ticket purchased through the QR code here goes to Seattle Adaptive Sports!

WEEKLY HAPPENINGS 7/25-7/31

Midsummer activities around here include a lot of outdoor play, planning for the upcoming seasons, and of course cleaning and reorganizing. Last week we moved into a new, larger storage unit 🎉, and we are so grateful for everyone who came out to help! Storage isn’t exactly exciting but it’s a big part of how we are able to host athletes for a variety of different sports. All our thanks!

We are participating in the Seattle Alliance Sports Sampling Camp at Rainier Community Center and Playfield from August 3 to 7, 2026. Featured adaptive sports opportunities we will provide include Power Soccer on Monday, August 3 from 1:15–2:45 PM and Wheelchair Basketball on Thursday, August 6 from 1:15–2:45 PM. No prior experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.

This is a FREE camp for youth ages 7 to 17 where Seattle-based pro sports players help create access to play. Come meet your local sports heroes and have some fun!

Thanks to all of those who joined us (thanks to the Jordan Fund !) at the Seattle Mariners game last weekend! We had such a great time—and one of our own, soccer player Jacob, got to meet Cal Raleigh, Dominic Canzone, Cole Young, and Bryce Miller on the field! Our power soccer and goalball practices continue this weekend, and our six-week summer basketball season starts Sunday.
