Andy Volk is a seasoned creative producer and Senior Film Programmer at Austin Film Festival, where he has fostered a reputation for championing compelling, boundary-pushing storytelling and established fellowship initiatives to support rising filmmakers. In his time at AFF, Andy has developed partnerships with industry heavyweights such as A24, Searchlight Pictures, Vertigo Entertainment, Cinetic Media, and Echo Lake Entertainment.

His previous filmmaking work, the vibrantly animated documentary "Coffee & Sugar," showed a talent for crafting stories that resonate deeply with audiences, screening at Seattle International Film Festival, Loft Film Festival, Chandler International Film Festival and currently streams on Shorted. As producer for Aaron Bear’s "Yes I Am: The Ric Weiland Story," Andy applied his storytelling instincts and resourcefulness to build the narrative to uplift Ric’s legacy and his impact on the LGBTQ+ community. "Yes I Am" went on to screen globally at Newport Beach Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival, and winning Best Documentary Feature at Dumbo Film Festival, the Grand Prize at Lonely Seal Film Festival. "Yes I Am" was received a Special Recognition Award at the 35th GLAAD Media Awards. Andy has teamed with Aaron again on an upcoming feature about recidivism programs within the prison system.

As a writer, Andy's short horror script "Rebirth" was a Semifinalist at Hollyshorts Film Festival and attracted the attention of UK-based company Hawk Bells. Andy is a frequent writer on Austin-based Hyperreal Film Club.

ABOUT PAUL:

Paul Guyot has written and produced over 200 hours of television and served as Co-Executive Producer and showrunner on series including LEVERAGE, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, THE LIBRARIANS, and others. He co-wrote the feature film GEOSTORM (which grossed $300 million worldwide) but don’t hold it against him.

In 2020, after CBS Studios won a 7-figure bidding war for the rights to the book BITTER BREW -- the true story of five
generations of the Anheuser-Busch family -- Paul was hired to adapt it for an epic 3-season series, but the project died a
Pandemic death. He once sold a series to a network on a Thursday which was UNsold on Monday morning... after the head of the studio split with their spouse over the weekend.

Last year he adapted the Korean film NO TEARS FOR THE DEAD for CJ Entertainment. Currently, he is developing an independent feature film which will be his directorial debut, writing two more books, and co-writing a feature script. He’s very tired.

He is the author of KILL THE DOG: The First Book on Screenwriting to Tell You the Truth, which was an Amazon bestseller upon its release. His TikTok videos about professional screenwriting have garnered more than 12 million views. He has been called the Rick Rubin of making old fashioneds.
