Stellars Our mission is to support and promote professional development for women in the avalanche industry.

OUR MISSION
- To honor women who have made significant contributions to the field of snow and avalanches
-Establish and maintain a scholarship fund to sponsor female presenters at future ISSW’s
- To offer female ISSW attendees the opportunity to gather, share information, and network with
other professional women in the industry
- To provide mentorship opportunities with experienced snow and avalanche professionals to newer members of our community
- To preserve the history of women’s contributions to this field
- To create a support network and legacy of women in the industry

This one's for the gals! Join a network of female-identifying avalanche workers as we gather to celebrate "moms in the mountains" ahead of Mother's Day. The evening will feature stories and discussions with women in all stages of motherhood and all facets of the snow and avalanche world. You do NOT need to be a mom to attend. We hope you'll join us for a fun night of networking, learning, and community building.

Dave Hamre has been a long-time influential member of the avalanche community. After a long career in many facets of the avalanche industry, he began a consulting firm in 2008, DHA Avalanche Safety. A huge shout out for his company's sponsorship of a 2024 Avalanche Diva Travel Grant. With ISSW 2024, Tromsø, just under a week away, we want to take some time this week to thank our Avalanche Diva Sponsors! Thanks to the community's generosity, we awarded four travel grants to women presenting their research at the conference.

, a brand trusted by professionals worldwide, sponsored two of these grants. Not only are they supporting women in the avalanche industry, but they also began the International Ski Patrol Day in 2022 to highlight this hardworking group of professionals. It's been a tragic week with three avalanche fatalities across the western US. Our hearts go out to family and friends grieving lost loved ones. Thank you to the ski patrollers, SAR teams, and avalanche forecasters for all your efforts in the aftermath of these incidents.

The mountains are an unforgiving landscape, bringing both fullillment and great loss to our lives. It can be difficult to process this juxtaposition, leaving us feeling empty, attempting to understand the why and how. Please know there are resources available for anyone who needs help processing trauma or grief. You can find more information through the website > Resilience Fund.

Did you know that the A3 directly supports the Avalanche Divas?

It would be extremely challenging for the Avalanche Divas to maintain our own 501-3C non-profit company. The A3 graciously maintains the Avalanche Divas under its own umbrella making it possible for us to continue to support women avalanche professionals.

Please consider donating during this giving season! Your donation supports all us doing the work to keep our roads and ski runs safe, the people who help us make better decisions in the backcountry, and the people who are the first on the scene when our time in the mountains doesn't go as planned.

I know you're all busy with springtime missions, or winter is in your rear view mirror. But the Diva's wanted to reach out and remind everyone that Travel Grant applications for female-identifying ISSW presenters are due on May 31st!

So if you're looking for some extra assistance making your way to Bend, make sure to get your application in!
