Welcome Calico- we saw her courtesy post https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EWTPWPFNt/?mibextid=wwXIfr several weeks ago and we put a plan into place.

We drove up to Mount Vernon, WA on August 1st and scooped her up from her caretaker. Calico had been a well loved stray in the area for a few years, and they didn’t want her to have to go through another winter outside. Calico is a 8-10 year old senior girl, with gorgeous green eyes, she loves to hold her paws out towards you while making biscuits and absolutely adores food time.

We immediately went to work on her medical needs, she received Dewormer and Capstar and topical flea medication, at her intake appointment she received her vaccines, viral tested, senior blood panel, f***l, urinalysis and microchip. She’s had GI upset since she arrived and her bloodwork showed possible low grade infection. We’ve been working on clearing both of these up for her with probiotics and appropriate food. She may still need more diagnostics for her tummy upset.

She’s a sweetheart and loves people and agreeable with the foundation cats. Yesterday, she was transported to her foster home, where she will gain more indoor experience and has a lovely big room all to herself, which we hear she’s made herself at home in. We are so grateful that her previous caretaker asked for help! We hope to share much more information about her in the upcoming weeks. For now she’s safe, loved and off the streets, mission accomplished.

8/23 Update! Wonderful news he’s been adopted! Thank you to everyone for sharing him and whomever adopted him treasure this boy like he’s a huge bag of diamonds💎

Saw this gorgeous boy (Old Man) is his name or maybe the name the shelter staff gave him (not sure), because he’s not old, at Burien PetSmart today. He’s been there since May, his shelter photo (adopt me photo is the one with him sitting in a litterbox), I tried to take more today but due to the smudges on the cage and glare from the cage it was tough.

This cat is stunning in person, he’s a huge boy, big paws, huge chonky face and body to match. The employees at PetSmart say he’s very sweet and playful (nothing else is known about him), I find this odd but from his shelter bio and write up at PetSmart it’s true. Have no idea how he is with other cats or dogs, how he found his way to the shelter, etc. Apparently his adoption fee (if you look at the fees to adopt a cat in his age range is $125.00).

Our guess is he’s probably a mix of Russian Blue or a Nebelung. He’s has a medium coat that looks like it could use a good brushing.

We are sharing him because he’s not receiving really any exposure, and he deserves to be in a home. Please share him and or go and meet him.

If he’s still there at the end of this month we will enquire about rescuing him. Right now we are full and have no room for him to go.

1- 24 count Friskies (tasty treasures with tuna and scallops (Domino’s favorite food “he has cancer” so whatever he loves he gets)

Happy Adoption Day 🎉Sir Yoshington Winksworth III 💗

Yoshi found his way to us a few months ago, he was found by Josefina, she did all she could to keep him safe and loved. We are grateful to Cynthia for allowing us to use her vet so we could have him seen before traveling to Seattle, he needed vaccines and to have his right eye examined so we could put a treatment plan in place. Yoshi hitched a ride with our dear friends other half and off they went on a cross country adventure! Beau drives a semi and before he even had a chance to reach back out to us his job sent him on a crazy journey. Here are all the states Yoshi has now traveled through! California to Kansas, Kansas to Colorado, Colorado to New Mexico, back up through Colorado to Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and finally his new home state, Washington❤️ thank you Samiah Savvi Lowe for giving him a much needed bath upon his arrival🫶🐾

Yoshi had his right eye removed (it was thought to have had some sort of trauma while he was roaming the streets as a stray), he was also neutered, microchipped and had a few nasal fistulas repaired. We thank our beloved primary vet and her dedicated team at Renton West Animal Hospital for moving mountains on the daily. Through everything he endured he is still the happiest, sweetest, goofy and loving dog. He absolutely is overjoyed with toys and the donut is his current favorite obsession. He loves people and he hasn’t met a dog he can’t charm the pants off of.

His forever mom Christine Eiken is a previous and current adopter, she wanted to share what this little boy has meant to her:-

Little Yoshi has brought so much joy into my life. He’s my tiny shadow, my constant companion, and somehow always knows exactly when I need a laugh or a little extra comfort. His goofy personality, endless curiosity, and unwavering love make every day brighter. He may be small, but he has an enormous place in my heart, and I can’t imagine my life without him.

We are grateful to each human who kept this little senior safe, loved, cared for and cared about. His life is so very special now….we love you little guy❤️ 🎂🐾💗

Bento and his ears❤️ He was in for an ultrasound yesterday, we noticed his belly has appeared bloated and hard.

Keeping the senior dogs and cats healthy is a full time job, not kidding. Keeping them up on specialty appointments is nonstop and expensive too.

The great news is nothing earth shattering! Bento has chronic pancreatitis and changes in his liver and lots of sludge in his gallbladder. Mostly senior dog age related medical issues but he’s also a heart dog and anytime he has to be sedated it takes longer for him to recover. He’s finally feeling more like his bossy self this morning, that’s 24 hours post sedation. He has bad teeth and we’ve been concerned about that, after yesterday we had a discussion about the dental versus possibly losing him on the table or complications from the sedation just to have a dental done. We’ve decided after careful consideration not to do this, the risk is just too high.

He’s a very senior boy who is very loved and we understand his needs (he’s not always easy but we are very use to him now) and we will be by his side all the way until it’s his time.

Our cost for his appointment yesterday was $500, and as a donor these are appointments that are critical. We appreciate our friends with The Summit Group who with their monthly donation, covered his needed care yesterday. Special thank you to our friends with Gooby who donated this harness which has been so helpful with managing Bento, he usually has to be carried or helped up at times, it fits him well and has been a great aid with managing his walking aversion with losing his sight.

URGENT!

Indoor home needed for a long time stray senior girl who has been named Calico by her caregiver. We are over our limit with taking Houdini back into our Foundation and sadly now we can’t help Calico as we had previously reached out saying we could😢.

This is the reality of being a small nonprofit and street cats who may need more socialization and most rescues not able to spend this important time like we’ve been able to. She has had no vet care, we have to get her off the streets as it’s becoming harder for her to be out with predators.

We need to find a home for Houdini and most of all a kind person that might have a spare room and or willing to help us to help Calico.

Seattle area please, our vet is located in Renton and must be able to bring her to vet appointments (we assume needs flea meds, worming, senior blood panel, urinalysis and dental-to start with). We PAY for all if this and anything she needs while she is in your home (we even have a small catio) with wheels for inside! We are assuming she’s been previously spayed but we don’t know for sure!

Please help Calico get off the streets! She’s said to be friendly with her caregiver and a previous neighbor who also fed her at one point.

Remembering Trace❤️ on June 16th at 6:06pm he passed away unexpectedly. He was a gem of a dog who loved all he met and especially adored children, he had several dog friends over the years. Trace was adopted by our primary veterinarian (Dr. Merrill), after he lost his first best friend- our founders Boxer, Rex. Trace fell into a deep depression after losing Rex, we did what was best for him, and placed into a home where he had more companionship and a home that revolved around his needs. He thrived and had a few bff’s (Jangel’s and Paddington) before they passed away, he enjoyed Norman (a pug mix) from our friend Daryl Alison and more recent, his newest brother (Pablo a spicy Chihuahua). Trace also loved cats and he found a very good friend in Monty (who also went to heaven) and he’d finally won over Beth (a spicy Siamese).

Trace loved car rides, he loved water, getting dirty and he lived for walks. He loved being in his yard and having the run of the clinic, most of all he loved his mom and lit up each time he saw her.

We are 100% positive that the welcoming committee in heaven was so BIG (almost as big as his personality). It’s so hard for us to post updates like this, but these wonderful animals deserve to be remembered. His life mattered and we are ALL better because we had the biggest honor of knowing Trace (his original name), that he came into the shelter with. Trace was rescued on January 16th, 2022, he was a little over 9 years old at the time.

Our heart is with Erica who has really been impacted by him leaving (when you don’t have the option to say goodbye it’s always more difficult and unresolved). Trace was in her home and heart for 3 1/2 years, it’s never long enough. You miss the goofy antics, the snoring, the deep barking, the hoping up and down “waiting for his harness to be snapped on” to go for that important walk, zoomies, the foot warmer and most of all best snuggler there ever was. Thank you to our friends at Resting Waters Aquamation for caring for our boy🩷

Trace, to know you was to love you….forever in our hearts, until we see you again sweet boy🌈

Charlie found his forever family❤️. Charlie spends his days with his best girl RubyJane and splits his time with Sasha (a senior kitty), a Turkey, other friendly foster cats and kittens, chickens and a bunny. His mom (Jocelynn volunteers with a local rescue), feeds several feral colonies, does tnr and along with her husband Steve and their parents (grandpa is in one photo) only “rescue” and help animals in need. RubyJane lost her previous best friend at the beginning of the year and she was lost without him. Charlie has been a lifeline and they’ve become inseparable.

A few words from his family-
Charlie Lives for walks and car rides, he hasn’t found a lap he doesn’t like, he’s a good sleeper and snuggles next to me, RJ and Sasha for some good snoring🩷 he’s our most beloved boy who truly loves everyone he meets, he can go from sleeping to zoomies in a nano second and RubyJane has her spark back thanks to him. His favorite place is on his “kitchen bed” watching all the action and hoping for a treat or two. We are all smitten with Charlie Brown🩷

Charlie came to us as an owner relinquishment the first week of February, he had a lengthy and long medical journey with us. His dedicated foster helped him gain confidence and most of all helping him recover and onto his next journey (foster to adopt home). We all fell in love with him and we are so thrilled to share his new life with his amazing family who adore him beyond measure. We knew he wasn’t 100% Shihtzu, and we gifted his family with a 🧬test (scroll to the end for his reveal).

With the help of donors (some monthly and reoccurring) and our GiveBig campaign we were able to offset some of his care and we thank you. We can’t do this important work without your support.

We also want to thank our primary vet and the specialists who literally move mountains to care for every dog and cat we are able to bring into our rescue. Special mention to our beloved Groomer Samiah Savvi Lowe who took care of all his grooming needs and fell in love with him too❤️
