This is an important step forward, but the work is not yet done. We urge the Senate to take up and pass companion legislation without delay.

Great news: H.R. 2913, the Ukraine Support Act, is one step closer to a full House vote.

We thank all lawmakers who voted to advance the bill through today's procedural vote. H.R. 2913 would strengthen sanctions and export controls targeting Russia's war economy, reinforce congressional oversight, and reaffirm U.S. support for Ukraine.

This legislation is important to our community, and we urge the House to pass H.R. 2913.

!!! Critical days ahead for Ukraine support in Congress !!!

The Ukraine Support Act (H.R. 2913) is expected to come to the House floor this week, with debate scheduled for Wednesday and a final vote potentially taking place on Thursday.

The bill would strengthen sanctions and export controls targeting Russia's war economy, provide additional support for Ukraine's defense and recovery, and reaffirm continued U.S. support for Ukraine's sovereignty.

There are active efforts underway to block the bill from advancing. Congressional offices are hearing from opponents of the legislation. They need to hear from supporters as well.

As Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities continue to escalate, sustained American support remains critical. Durable peace cannot be achieved by pressuring Ukraine into concessions while Russia continues its military aggression.

If you support Ukraine, please contact your Representative today and continue calling throughout the week. A brief, respectful message is enough:

"As your constituent, I urge you to support H.R. 2913, the Ukraine Support Act."

The American Coalition for Ukraine has created a simple action tool to help connect you with your Representative. The link is in the first comment.

Congressional offices track constituent outreach closely. Every call helps demonstrate that support for Ukraine remains strong and engaged.

Sunshine, music, dancing, laughter, and beautiful vyshyvankas everywhere 💙💛

Vyshyvanka Day 2026 was more than just an event, it was a reminder of how powerful community, culture, and tradition can be when people come together. Seeing generations of Ukrainians and supporters celebrating side by side, sharing stories, learning dances, and proudly wearing embroidery from different regions of Ukraine made the day incredibly special.

Every vyshyvanka told its own story through its patterns, colors, and stitching - each one unique, meaningful, and deeply connected to Ukrainian heritage. From traditional regional designs to modern interpretations, it was amazing to see culture come alive in so many different ways.

Thank you to everyone who danced, smiled, celebrated, and helped make this day unforgettable 🇺🇦✨

Vyshyvanka Day 2026 💙💛

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for such a beautiful celebration of Ukrainian culture, community, and tradition. From learning new dance steps, dancing together, meeting new friends, enjoying the sunshine, and simply sharing joy with one another - it was truly a day to remember.

A special thank you to Oleh for leading the event and hosting the wonderful mini Ukrainian Folk Dance workshop, bringing so much energy and spirit to the celebration. We also want to sincerely thank the Ukrainian Association of Washington State and UW Ukrainians for organizing this event and creating a space for our community and supporters to come together.

Fun fact: traditional Ukrainian embroidery patterns often vary by region, and certain symbols were historically believed to bring protection, strength, prosperity, and good fortune to the person wearing them ✨

This year, we mark 35 years of Ukrainian independence - and 35 years of celebrating it together in Seattle.

Since 1971, the Ukrainian Association of Washington State has been a home for Ukrainians in the Pacific Northwest. Through culture, humanitarian aid, and advocacy, we’ve shown up for our
community and for Ukraine - every single year.

This August, we’re doing it again. Come be part of it.
