Sister Schools partners schools in Washington State with schools and orphanages in Uganda, East Africa. Both new and used items are acepted.

Every fall, Sister Schools staff visits fifteen to twenty schools in Washington State. Through pictures and stories, the overwhelming difficulties faced by children in Ugandan schools and orphanages is made real. A supply drive is then organized and students are encouraged to participate in ways that are meaningful to them. After the items are distributed in Uganda, a return presentation to each school is given showing students the direct impact of their specific gifts. Our children see Ugandan children receiving their individual donations. In a uniquely personal and powerful way, Sister Schools gives our children a better understanding of the world in which they live and helps them experience the life-changing effect of personally serving others.

There’s something fun about a fundraiser when supporting a cause you care about can also come with a little dreaming. 🌺

At this year’s Sister Schools Benefit Brunch, one very lucky guest will be heading to Kona, Hawaii for four nights at this beautiful vacation home overlooking the ocean.

The home has four bedrooms, sleeps up to 10, and comes with the kind of views that make you want to stay on the lanai until the sun disappears. And with only 100 Golden Raffle tickets available at $50 each, someone in our Sister Schools community is going to have a pretty incredible trip to look forward to.

But the best part is what brings us all together in the first place. Every person who attends, bids, participates, and shares helps Sister Schools continue creating opportunities and connections for students. That’s what makes this day, and all the fun surrounding it, mean so much to us. ❤️

Our Board came together to reflect on how far we’ve come, ask thoughtful questions about where we’re going, and make sure the work ahead stays centered on what matters most: creating meaningful opportunities for students and stronger connections across our communities.

We’re so grateful for the time, care, and heart our Board continues to bring to Sister Schools. Their ideas, leadership, and belief in this mission help shape what comes next.

Looking back, we left that room feeling energized — and looking ahead, we’re even more excited about what we’re building together.

Good work starts with good people, and we’re incredibly grateful for ours. ❤️

We probably don’t say this enough, but Sister Schools simply wouldn’t be what it is without the people who choose to stand behind this work. ❤️
