Kids Need Bikes Kids Need Bikes is a non-profit organization (section 501(c)(3) founded in 2013 to provide bicycles to children in need.

Our goal is simple: build an all-volunteer charitable organization based in Seattle, Washington focused on providing new bicycles and helmets to children in need. We have partnered with several local organizations that serve, advocate for and support underprivileged kids to get these bikes to those who need them most. Treehouse, Holly House, Friends of Youth and Neighborhood House are some of these amazing organizations. Our expectation is that every dollar raised will be used to facilitate the cost and delivery of new bicycles and helmets—with every effort made to reduce unnecessary expenses and overhead. Recall the joy of riding your first bicycle, and now picture a foster child having this magical experience. Your donation can help make this a reality.

Hey friends, it’s been a minute! Kids Needs Bikes has kept at it, donating new bikes and helmets to local organizations that serve kids every holiday season since our last post. We got in a few summer donations too!

This past December, we partnered with the Washington Student Cycling League’s local mountain bike team, Team Sasquatch, to help us build more bikes for kids. We delivered 40 bikes and helmets to KidVantage, just in time for the holidays. KidVantage was so kind to give us tour and tell us about their organization and how they serve families in need.

One piece that stuck with us, is that there are always more requests for bikes than what they can provide! So happy we were able to give 40 kids a little joy on wheels!
