People are complex. Add to that, addiction, mental illness, poverty, and soaring costs, and you get the even more complex societal issue of homelessness. We see it all over our nation. Only policy change will bring our numbers down in Seattle. We can open all the beds we want (and we need them!) We need to follow the existing laws to see a positive change. This article has some great ideas to start with.

After years of crisis, most cities are seeing big reductions in street homelessness. But not here in Seattle and King County. Why are we so different?

On Wednesday, we had the privilege of welcoming leaders from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to our shelter for a site visit.

Thank you to Jeremy Field, Christopher Patterson, and our board member Steven Buri for taking the time to visit, learn more about our work, and engage with our mission. It was an honor to share how we are serving individuals in King County and working each day to bring hope, dignity, and healing to those experiencing homelessness.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect and for your interest in the impact happening here in our community.

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED
We’re in a pinch and could really use some community support!

Our chef is taking some well-earned PTO June 24–June 30, and while June 24 & 25 are already covered, we still need help providing dinner 🍽 for 50 people on the remaining days.

We’re looking for individuals, groups, or local businesses who can either:
💙 Come in and cook
💙 Provide/prep and drop off a meal

🍽 Dinner is the priority, but if you’re able to help with lunch (smaller group), that would also be greatly appreciated.
