United Indians of All Tribes Foundation United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, located at Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center.

In 1970, a small group of Northwest Native Americans and supporters led by the late Bernie Whitebear engaged in an occupation at Fort Lawton to reclaim a land base for Urban Indians living in and around Seattle. A twenty-acre site was eventually secured for this purpose in what is now Discovery Park. The Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center was completed by UIATF in 1977 and has become a hub of ac

tivity for Native peoples and supporters locally, nationally and internationally. The Foundation provides a wide variety of social, education and economic development opportunities, artistic and cultural activities with and for the Native community including:

Join us for an evening of reflection, learning, and community as we gather to screen The Teaching of the Tree People, a powerful documentary honoring the life and legacy of Bruce Miller (Skokomish).

Bruce Miller's work helped revitalize language, cultural teachings, traditional knowledge, and Indigenous leadership across the region. His legacy reminds us that Indigenous knowledge is not a relic of the past. It is living, resilient, and carried forward through generations.

Following the screening, stay for a panel and community discussion exploring the importance of remembering, reclaiming, and protecting Indigenous ways of knowing.

From participating in the historic Occupation of Alcatraz at age 15 to becoming the groundbreaking frontwoman of the iconic new wave band Romeo Void, Iyall has spent a lifetime using art and music to challenge boundaries and inspire change.

Known for hits like Never Say Never and A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing), she remains one of the most influential Indigenous artists of her generation.

A 2019 Native American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Iyall continues to create powerful work as both a musician and visual artist.
